OK, let me clear it up for our younger generations out there. There is no "Best" drummer. Music is an art form, especially drumming. There are no set regulations or criteria that constitute whether or not a drummer is better than another. Take it from me, there are two factors to consider. 1)Is the drummer proficient in the genre that he is currently playing in and 2)Does this drummer make you tap your feet or nod your head. If both criteria are met, then you have a good drummer.

Please, just for the sake of drum enthusiast's everywhere to go to a jazz-festival and listen to any drummer there. Drums aren't just about melody, it's about rhythm... about a groove, this man just pumps a fucking song. It's not hard to do a standard 4/4 song, or even a standard rock beat that this man is accustom to--he hits the drum hard, that's it.

@skippy2885 Unfortunately for me, I actually took lessons from a man who actually plays jazz for a living. I know my in's and out's--I learn by doing, something I assume you aren't accustom to doing. Creativity isn't about a hard hit, it's about rhythm, melody--it's about amplifying a certain sound, mood... that's what drums are, they are the life line. Travis Barkers hits the snare hard and that's about it--he's hitting the bass drum on one and three, snare on two and four. Not difficult.
