When we recognized that we are Gomer, then will we understand what it is to be the Shulamite in the Song of Solomon. Then will we be able to say: I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine, and his banner over me is love. What shall separate us from the love of Christ? If God's love was dependant on us, we would all be in trouble. Praise the LORD for his mercy/love which endures/is faithful forever.

A casual look at the book of Hosea often has us seeing how unfaithful Gomer is in that account. The glory of Hosea is not in the unfaithfulness of Gomer. The glory of it is in the enduring love of the LORD. By whatever means necessary, the LORD was determined to love her. By his wisdom after removing all her lovers and all they had to offer, he brought her to the wilderness to speak comfortably to her-to tell her, to show her how he loved her; and in so doing inclined her heart unto her LORD.
