before you all start flocking here, either have a Class A CDL with HazMat endorsement or atleast a year previous oil field experience or you wont get hired. just letting you all know. i work as a floorhand here in williston, and i see people filling out applications all day most of them with no experience, and i know for a fact they wont get hired, and the HR department is so sick of getting so many apps from people who have no experience in the oilfield.9 out of 10 applicants dont get call bac

Snuggle, it's booming even more, although, they are hating it, cuz the roads are going to shit, and the traffic is horrible, and there are "man camps" everywhere

There is construction going on as well, but we're running into winter and residential construction slows way down until spring. Man camps aren't terribly desirable place to live, but workers kind of have to take what they can get because there just isn't housing for everyone.

@princessnodak I'm actually working up there doing geology/geo-steering work. My degree is in computer engineering. Yes the traffic is bad but luckily we just live on the rig site they have mobile home trailers set up for us since we need to be there 24/7 and work in 12 hour shifts.

Good for Stanely. I lived in Sidney Mt for 2 years in the early 90's, and used to cover basketball games in Stanley, Ray, Watford City, Williston Etc. Those towns didn't have a lot of action but the people were great. So I hope every resident is getting paid in large sums off of this boom.

The ND legislature tried to pass a bill that would give the surface owner a small cut of the mineral owners profit to compensate for the lost profit from taking the land above out of production but it failed

The only gripe i have is that the oil companies like to stake wells in the middle of fields and only give the surface owner a one time payment for all the land they take out of production to build the well site and road leading to it.

I live and was born and raised in stanley. When i was a kid in the 70s town was maybe 600 been around 800 to 900 till the boom now pushing 1500 and growing literally every day.
