Very nice. I'm not much a fan of the animation style, but that's just a matter of personal taste, and should not be used to judge the overall video. *cough*HINT TO CERTAIN COMMENTERS*cough* I thought, content and composition-wise, it was very good. You obviously know your Tolkien-lore. Elladan and Elrohir were two really kick-ass characters that were unfairly overlooked by the movie crew. Nice to see something of them for once. Too bad hardly anyone bothers with Elros, though.

These are Lord Elronds 2 sons that stay in middle earth to take over rivendell.

The dude on the ship at the end is Earendil, Lord Elronds father.

He is in space because they took his silmaril which is a magic Gem and made it into a star..

I see that they are the sons of Elrond, two rangers: Elladan and Elrohir. They lived during the War of the Ring. If you are big fan of LotR then i tell you: please read the Lord of the Rings book, it is way better than movie. But movie is good too.

I just watched this video for the second time and I recognize the story now! This is Elladan and Elrohirs moment of choice!!! They are shown their past to remind them of where they have come from. Only when you know where you have come from can you correctly choose where you want to go!!!!

Yes as a matter of fact they do, I was kinna kiding since you were kiding as well The real deal is a little more complex to explain, What I love about thw whole Tolkien work is how precise it is with the depiction of evil as a force that never stops totally, There are two very strong lines to prove this one comes at the very end of the Silmarillion and the other one is delivered by Elrond something around this I've seen too many defeats and many useless victories...

And I find the ending of the films (And some concepts among the development) To be unfaithful to this concept, now I do understand that The whole Shire sidestory couldn't make into tthe film. But there were other options to preserve the feeling and the spirit of the books better than have it end with the same words.

Now of course the people from THFG and BoH (The late specially) work under that concept and I respect their efforts and they really are great pieces. I just do not share that opinion

with Arwen when the Fellowship leaves

Rivendell (Part I) and again when Arwen

meets Aragorn at his coronation (Part III).

They were Rangers with Aragorn; they

protected the borders of Rivendell; just

as Haldir patrolled the borders of Lorien.

Galadriel protected Lorien with her

The sons of Elrond are _identical twins_, tall with dark hair. Please don't go by the movies, which get so many things wrong. You'll find correct information regarding these characters in Tolkien's novel.

Well done. Though the animation is basically, "previs" stage, it works really well. The shot flow is nice too. You should try to put together the resources to make this live action. It would be a nice little short. For anyone who's read the Silmarillion, this was a very touching tribute.

I believe it is supposed to show the twins a part of their history. If I am right and it is the Sack of Sirion, then that is their grandmother and grandfather. Their grandfather now lights the way in the sky with the Silmaril in his crown, always watching over them. It's quite touching.

Remember, the Mirror can show the past, as well as the present and possible future. If it was showing the twins their history, then it doesn't matter when it happened and whether they were alive. I know Elrond was quite young when Sirion happened. It just showed the twins what happened before they were born. At the very least, that was definitely Earendil with the Silmaril shown at the end.
