  • i found this easy to masturbate to...

  • no cgi, no explosions, no guns shooting, no comic book movie magic here, just straight forward, emotional, powerful real acting here! Orson Welles belongs to the pantheon of the Gods! a master at his craft and i loved watching this. he is passed on but we are left to see the magic he left behind.

thank you for uploading this my friend, great movie.

    take care

  • Gotta love the folks that go on YouTube looking at Orson Welles film clips and get all heroic and religious. What ever happened to the gift of forebearance?

  • The closeups of the judge don't match the long shots. Pretty bad.

  • @goback3spaces How so? I can't see it.

  • @RogueRotting360 Oh, yeah...watch carefully

  • I don't see how anyone of good conscience can approve of the death penalty. Particularly Christians, who, finding nothing to support it in the New Testament, have reach back in the Old Testament for quotes that are entirely inconsistent with Jesus' teachings of absolute forgiveness and total love.

  • @bertonifilms I am curious. Explain to me this business of "absolute forgiveness and total love." How can Jesus guarantee such a thing? If He cannot, then it is just empty words, His and yours. Absolute? Total? Upon what supportable and verifiable evidence can you or He make such a claim?

  • @orovalleydude What on Earth are you talking about? Why should I explain it? I was describing what Christians believe. I made no claim at all. Why don't people read posts before responding to them?

  • @bertonifilms Ahh, please forgive me, I thought you were explaining why Christians should disapprove of the death penalty because of their claims about the teachings of Jesus. My error.

  • Hey! The young guy on the right wearing the dark suit and tie. That's a young Dean Stockweel. I wonder if he LEAPED into that role. LOL

  • Not everything in the scripture is wise, that's why you only quote the good parts.

  • Inspiring stuff . A great scene by a great actor .

  • Thanks for posting this. What a great closing argument.

  • @therealcoolass Oh Welles is terrific, but listen closely to what he says as Darrow. It is total manipulation.

  • @Novak67766 I don't doubt Darrow's sincerity though. Of course all trial lawyers try to manipulate to some extent, but in this case I think most of his statements are heartfelt.

  • @jmd26 That's what helps him succeed. It was heart felt, but he compared the premeditation of the killers with the way the case was prosecuted, as if the district attorney was involved in a crime to murder. It just isn't the same thing. Of course all he really did was out-manipulate the prosecutor. It was likely a political decision by the judge. However, as a movie, it's very good and would rate much better than most of the stuff out there today.

  • @Novak67766 When he quoted Scripture, the prosecutor should have quoted Scripture where God said, if a man sheds another man's blood, so shall his blood be shed by another man. When he said that the death penalty makes us like them, the prosecutor should have cited the difference between murder and justice served for the murder committed. I guess the prosecutor was a moron. But, you're right. It is a well made movie.
