  • You can't go wrong with The Stones' 70s music. Man, music just isn't the same anymore :(

  • all stones music make me want to do drugs specially dead flowers talk about doing drugs thats the song

  • Exile is my all time favorite album though the whole feel makes me want get dirty, do some drugs, and play some damn good music

  • Love this song, Love the Stones

  • I don't know if it's the best Stones ever, it is the shit - Mick Taylor's solo is good, but one must think: is it better than Sticky Fingers? I think not, so to say its the best ever is a bit much. I love the Stones from the beginning till the day they die. The Stones are the ones who opened the doors to everyone to say whatever they wanted to say

  • Kiedyś słuchałam tej piosenki bez przerwy, całymi dniami. Chyba czas to powtórzyć.

  • GOAATS HEEEAD SOOOOOOP is the best ever!!!

  • Great, great, great, great, song. Mick Taylor's solo is simply wonderful

  • I could listern to this band until the end of time.....

  • don't you think it's sometimes wise not to grow up..

  • @gunnersmate211 actually... mostly everyone credits mick taylor for making the band completely amazing. which i find irritating, IMHO. i think that all of the members added a special something to the group, it wasn't just one member that made the band shine... it's teamwork =_= but the guy was/still is good. :)

  • Real good fucking music...

  • It seems like 100 years ago since The Rolling Stones formed and became one of the greatest rock bands ever...

  • This, to me, song and LP is the Stones best! Might be because I was going through every damn song for real!! A certified Addict and slut - married 7 times and high all the time and I do mean all the time (got Clean in '94)... After getting clean I never went back to jail, lost a job, car house, wife , or family!.... Still love the Stones and still play in a R n R band.

  • @dcraigwise1 you cant be a slut you are a man.

  • @00Jackacid ...LOL... Oh yes you can!!...LOL... I was married 7 times and had I don't know how many "girlfriends" during that period. What else would you call it??!...lol... All the people I jam with say - Yep you were a slut - big time slut!!...lol...

    Peace

  • @dcraigwise1 being a man?

  • Sure - that too!...lol...

  • Must have been about 1000 years ago!

  • Call me Lazy-Bones

  • The guitar in this song is hot. I cannot think of a dull guitar lick ever played by Mick Taylor. He can truly be proud of his work with the Stones. It seems that maybe Keith tried to control his role a bit. Mick was that good.....

  • One of my esoteric favorites of the Boys, along with Winter, from this self same LP, Shine a Light, and perchance my abso fave, Loving Cup.Never quites certain of some lyrics (Muddy taught em well, and I seldom choose to verify, loving the mystery), but, "Now if you see me drinkin, damn good wine, don't worry bout this man that you love" seems appropos, juxtaposed to childhood/adolescent nostalgia of "just gazin at some dragon in the sky...what tender days, we had no secrets anyway. Religion4me.

  • Call me "Lazybones!" Dontcha get it?

  • @gunnersmate211 They deserve all the credit in the world, as well as the rest of this great band.

  • OH MY GOD! A YOUTUBE VIDEO WITH ZERO DISLIKES!! (Let's see how long 'til the first douche bag that comes along changes that.)

  • @PinkertonStudsworth ha ha ! Great ..man! it gets told like it is..

  • @PinkertonStudsworth EXCELLENT Comment; Studsworth! I don't understand why some people (haters) get on here and listen to bands that they already KNOW they don't LIKE; just so they can bash them and put'em down! I only listen to people I DO like; or am curious about...and try to make only positive comments....until I run into one of these "douche-bags", as you so (not so) eloquently put it. Cheers though! "Good on ya, Mate" !

  • i love this song! mick kinda sounds like van morrison in this . and of course mick taylor shines as always

  • @bacardibum I was JUST about to comment the same thing!!! So close sounding to van during the beginning

  • @bacardibum

Isn't that the other way round?

  • @bacardibum

I agree, but it's not just Mick.

The whole song is very Van Morrison-esque.

  • haha i'm going to go for a walk in the woods with this on my ipod. too bad it isn't fall :(

  • if it wasnt for the rolling stones alot of other bands woulda never came to be

  • Love how Mick Taylor's first lead break rolls in like a summer storm over the Kent countryside

  • Comment removed

  • holy shit. 5 months ago, i didn't even know who mick taylor was(besides the fact that he played lead for the stones) Now, he's one of my favorite guitarists ever. People like him Jimi and Jimi, Becl, and even Clapton play a huge role on mine and i'm sure on many others playing style. mick taylor is amazing. i could see why keef was jealuos.

  • mick taylor took the stones to another stratosphere. its unfortunate that he was not given writing credit for his work (sway, moonight mile, time waits for no one etc etc) and moved on. the stones from 69-74 were the best years they ever had thanks to taylor. bring him back!!!!!!

  • santos

  • looks like joan collins!!!

  • Keith Richards and Mick Taylor by far the best ever lead- rhythm duo...and Keith Richards was /is the coolest cat on the planet...he defined what a rock guitar player should be like...elegantly wasted and the King of riffs...long live the King.

  • I love that cover for the album! (: Mick looks hilarious :)

  • Possibly my very fav Stones track. Goats is def underrated!

  • great CD. the critics were wrong.

  • One of my favourite stones tracks.

  • does anyone think keith is overrated

  • @MistyMountainMan83

    its just you

  • @MistyMountainMan83 um no because he is great.

  • Went out walkin through the woods the other day...

And the world was a carpet laid before me...

The buds were burstin and the air smelled sweet and strange...

Seemed about a 100 years ago...

Mary and I we would sit upon a gate...

Just gazin at some dragon in the sky lord...

What tender days we had no secrets hid away...

Well it seemed about 100 years ago...

  • Greaaaaaatttttttttt song.

  • I'm livin for the first 20 seconds

  • call me lazy bones

  • beautiful song...

  • the stones are awsome....... I wish Mich Taylor came back .. why fucking not

  • EXCELLENT...MAGNIFICENT

  • its wise not to grow up

  • Call me lazy bones, ain´t got no time to waste away.

What a great song. And Billy on piano ...

  • 37 years ago today i got this album from Santa. Great man Santa.

  • Why did they put Angie out as the single? The funk rock workouts on this album on so much better. Also the guitar playing is up to the standard of any of their 70s peers. Also Beatles vs. Stones - sorry no competition with stuff like this.

  • my song

  • It's a L-o-v-e-l-y song: loose, refreshing & warming, and the bit from 2:35 on is making me dancing in a pool of laughing tears of delight.

Also great, don't know why i have to think of it: Jiving Sister Fanny, from their Metamorphis album.

  • Comment removed

  • Goats Head Soup is no masterpiece, but it is Mick Taylor's finest moment with the stones, he gets a lot to do on this album:)

  • That intro gets me everytime

  • "Doncha think it's sometimes wise not to grow up....."

"It seem about a hundred years ago."

  • mick taylor is in my view the best and coolest stone, as for one he got bored BORED! of the stones and secondly he still plays small clubs such as the tavern in liverpool to crowds as small as 100. He is tthe only stone your still likely to have a personal gig with.

  • @kingoomanji Mick was the best lead guitarist the Stones had. Sorry Keef.

  • @kingoomanji Not True! The Stones play unpublicized gigs in small clubs when they are on tour, or preparing. They obviously cant announce it of people would kill each other to get in. They just dont really have the luxury of doing many of them because sooooo many people want to see them. They want to make their fans happy. WHile Taylor is the best guitarist they ever had, truth is no one really cares about him after he left. He forgot about the power of a great band when he left!

  • @scottelliottmusic make their fans happy? dont think so. Its all about money and especially with Jagger.

  • @PrimalStones That may be true, hes into money now, but lets be realistic, they have millions of fans. They obviously want as many of their fans to see them as possible. Sure they make a ton of money, Its their job. You cant knock someone for being payed to do their job.It doesnt mean they have no other motives. They want to perform for their fans. Thats the whole point of live music. Otherwise they'd be like the Beatles; Hiding in the studio selling records cuz touring was just to hard.

  • i will love this song with all of my heart for as long as i live. top 3 favvy song of all times. Thanks boys:)

  • yes mick taylor and woody that would be a dream come true.

as well as wyman and Darryl too much..

  • BRING TAYLOR AND WOOD BACK FOR THE FAREWELL TOUR 2011 !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Keith Taylor fit in very well with the Stones, but he apparently did not feel that way. Great work by MT, but he was not BOOTED out of the band, he left on his own recognizance (voluntarily). Plus, Keith Richards was the guy (with Mick) that wrote all the material. Great era nonetheless. Everyone chill...

  • th elead guitar is friigin' unreal.. thanks to Mick Taylor..wish you'd never left

  • @willypdyer i thought it was keith richards?

  • Of course Mick Taylor was a Stone - just not as much of a stoner after a while. I agree though, the interplay between his and Keith's playing is something so cool. He added a whole other level to their sound. Check out his work on Waiting for a Friend : It's only Rock and Roll. What about Nicky Hopkins or Billy Preston on keyboards? Excelllennnnt!

  • Billy preston on pee anne oh. the best thing about this song...it never became famous. This, and Winter.

  • M.T. is doing backing vox on this as well as amazing playing

  • is the best song of this album ... this very good version of old stones, it is excellent! resemble the stones of the 70s but they play today ...

  • Never been a Stones fan, but this tune really got my kicks back then-

It reminds me about sundays back in the 70's, when we went out in the fields.

Things were so peaceful in those days :)

  • Kieth Richards doesn't need to be envious of any guitar player. He pioneered the open G tuning that is the Stones sound. Mick Taylor was not a Rolling Stone. He was more or less just filling in until Ronnie's contractual obligations were complete. Now Ronnie Wood is a Rolling Stone. Mick Taylor is a great guitarist but so is Ronnie Wood and he compliments the Stones much better. Brian was a complete musical genius, but he's dead.

  • @magprob question...by the statement "Mick Taylor was not a rolling stone" do you mean that he didn't fit the mold or look of the Stones? If that's your take......I won't disagree......however if your saying that Taylor was not an integral part of the band, well I have to disagree. Why is it that the bulk of the most critically acclaimed albums are with Mick Taylor.......and not just critically.....popularity too. Hats off to Ronnie Wood and RIP Brian....but you cannot discount Mick Taylor.

  • @davedcp64 Yes, you understood what I was trying to say. Mick Taylor always seemed aloof and just didn't fit in. He is a great musician. His lead solos added a deep texture to those albums. Ronnie just personafied what a Stone should be.

  • @magprob I think quite the same

  • The finest Stones period for me. Thanks for posting!

  • I know you´re right boys but sometimes i think how the band would have been with more years of this musician (Mick Taylor) In the band.Sorry.

  • Love all of the old tunes,

  • It's always Mick T. era this and that ...arguing about who's better or when was better...

Did anyone notice the lyrics? not bad! haha...

  • I love youtube but ever notice how ANGRY people are...I mean I get it - things are funky in the world - but this is about music - the shit to soothe our souls and people get all worked up over their opinions...y'all are funny...Goats Head Soup was/is a great album from the Glimmer Twins - in my opinion of course...hahaha - (watch here come all the F you's!)

  • @douglasedwardhaight Hey man FUCK YOU FUCK YOU! haha just KIDDING man. I totally agree with what you said. What IS it with people on Youtube? So much friggin anger and hate. Esp with music or political opinions. Ridiculous. I like G H Soup too, recently just started to get in to it again after shelving it for 20+ years

  • @mikekinney288 Yeah man, rock and roll can save your soul

  • @douglasedwardhaight right mate, you´re completely right!! worship your wisdom.

  • the fucking keith richards would never achieve this marvellous guitar interpretation.Ever.

    A great musician ..Mick Taylor.

  • @daveedine the fucking keith richards, my god you sound like you're about 12. Why do you have to hate keith richards in order to like mick taylor?

  • @elgrovez13 the stones were a lot,lot better with this guitarist but the fucking keith richards had to get rid of him because of the envy....too bad.

  • @daveedine Actually Taylor left of his own accord. Keith said he loved playing with him. Also the fucking keith richards wrote most all their music, if you listen to Beggars Banquet and Let It Bleed 90% of the guitar work is Keith and they're both great.

  • @elgrovez13 It's not easy being a musical genius, they have issues...

  • great song

  • Okay - I came here to enjoy a hot Rolling Stones beat and instead of feeling the love of others who shared my sentiments, I am reading about cats with tit problems. Wow! Nevertheless, you all chug cock............

  • Mindent Kockáztatsz. Undorító, amit Művelsz. Undorító, amit műveltem.

    Vigyázz

    D:

  • eh truthaxe go fuck yourself

  • are you serious?

  • @TruthAxe you suck dude

  • @1976BOSTON On your mom's tits, yep.

  • @TruthAxe I hope for your own sake your kidding. The Rolling Stones is one of, if not the best band in the entire world. Now I also feel sorry for you, it can't be too much fun beeing stupid AND deaf. And lets be frank here, the only tits you're sucking is your own mom's, you big fat baby. Go home and listen to whatever shit you like and stop trying to be tough. Your doing it wrong.

  • You amuse, Elisabethbakke.

You write, "The Rolling Stones is one of .. the best band...". Next, you write, "...much fun beeing stupid..." And later, you write, "Your doing it ..."

Rightly, the word gets spelled as B-E-I-N-G. Rightly it's , "The Rolling Stones ARE ..." Rightly, it's "You're ..."

    So who is stupid? LMAO

You better hope you have a great pair of tits to get you through your life because expression from your mind screams LOW IQ.

  • @TruthAxe Ok, teacher. First off all, i'm from Norway, and i'm 16. So no, I don't write english grammaticly correct (yet still, I got an A).

Secondly, you have a severe tit-problem. Get that checked.

Thirdly, at least I don't use stupid high school terms when I'm waaaay past that stage dude.

You should get out more, maybe meet someone as braindead as you, you know, it's about time to lose that virgity. Before it's too late...

    LOLLLL

  • You amuse, Elisabethbakke. Again.

Your excuse is that you're Norwegian? Listen, Norwegian Wood, you should look in the mirror and ask yourself why mere words made you angry. Exactly from what mental illness do you suffer?

What attracts you to your grandparents music?

  • @TruthAxe yet here you are listening to it

  • You amuse, KDoc21.

Listening implies ongoing action. Have you never learned how to use a pause control? Do you not know what the mute button means?

  • @TruthAxe dude just fuck off and stop posting comments....and quit the "you amuse" phrase, fucking ANNOYING! -.-

  • You amuse, loveMyFreakinLife, and more than most!

Mere words have triggered you into a meddlesome state. In typical mentally ill fashion, we see you believing that you can decree to others what they can and cannot do. Yet, you lack any power to back up your feet stomping demands.

    Oh how you amuse. LMAO

  • @TruthAxe well I do know one thing without a doubt....that you my friend, who's probably dying from laughter since we're all sooo amusing, are an idiot :D

have a nice day you nimrod --.--

  • Most amusing loveMyFreakinLife.

Here you are, again, angered over mere words such that you have become uncontrollably driven to try to insult me.

You have become my puppet. I pull the strings and you dance.

So who is the idiot? Who is the nimrod? LMAO

    Oh how you amuse, loveMyFreakinLife.

  • @TruthAxe BAD SONGS????
