  • Great video. I got charged by a mom with 2 cubs this past summer. Ran into the bushes and drew my pistol. Didn't want to shoot her as in illegal area so would have been DLP. Plus she had cubs. I was after black bear in the area. Gonna be on the peninsula come may 10th and hope to do the same as you did. Hard not to shoot a griz that close, sucks he charged, but at least your alive! Hell make a great rug too

  • Did you shoot it in the face ? :0

  • love the vid please check out our hunts on our channel

  • kool but guns are not my thing do it with a bow and arrow woud be really kool

  • lol its me again. I think I was chatting with you on the mountain goat hunt. I've lived in Alaska for 13 years now and only been hunting twice. TWICE. pretty sickening. I need to go more. I just end up going by myself which isn't very smart in Bear country. I want to get a guide and get myself a big brown bear.

  • Well done video. I wanted to hear what his "or" was after whether to run "or"..

  • Why did you not shot the secant one in the head

  • lol holy shit that 2nd bear got so close

  • You all must have small dicks and never get any pussy.

  • I am interested to know what you do with them afterwards,do you use them in some way ,eg.skin, trophy or do you just leave them there?

  • I had a Brownie pop up on me at about 15 yards, if I would have had a firearm, I would have dumped him as well (I had pepper spray). No shame in taking that bear, it is unnerving, I don't care if it's 7 and a half feet or not. When you're hundreds of miles from civilization, shit happens. Good video.

  • cardo: I happen to have talked to the producer of the show for Cabela's and the Alaska Dept OF F&G did indeed issue a DLP for that bear. Of course they got their fair share of slack anyway.

I just put the tag on mine and called it a done deal!

  • Great vid in terms of clarity and what really happens out there, loved the footage of the Bald eagle. As far as the second bear hindsight is always 20/20. It does look like the bear was "probably" just checking you guys out and based on the footage was about to turn. I watched the Cabella's video that was on here a while back and wanted to know if the Alaska dept. of fish and game issued you a DLP? I'm not here to judge you in this real-life situation many would have done exactly the same thing.

  • If you want to take a real life risk all you have to do is choose to drive in any major city at 1am on any given Friday or Saturday night. No Sir! Not for me, give me the Alaska Pennisula and Brown Bears any day at any distance over that!

Like it or not. I do what I do, if people enjoy the video and care to watch it. Hey! Thanks for stopping in. But! If you don't care for it, change the channel. I am not making you watch it. To each their own!

  • 40intrek: You guys can sure read a lot into a video. I hope you are not accusing me of hunting bears for their bladders. If you are than you simply do not know what you are talking about.

As far as risking my life, I am not sure who put the Jim Schockey terms to my activities. I know I didn't. I simply love to hunt. The bigest risk I take is driving to the Airport to catch the plane out. That by far my friend is a larger human risk than anything I do in the wilderness.

  • To each his own. There's plenty of nonnative game in this country for food that one doesn't have to apparently risk his so called life hunting bear bladders. Ignorant is the word of the day. And I'm not hiding behind the internet like you are..

  • I have killed some really big black bears and they stunk like crap from eating winter kill I wouldnt eat them.I dont understand freudling,is an intelligent animals life more valuable than a stupid chickens? If so then a normal persons life is more valuable than say a retarded person's life, right?Seems like I heard of a guy from Germany back in the 40's who thought the same way.Killed off all his insane/retarded/undesirable citzens just to save his country alot of money

  • For all you lily-livered sissies who are wining like babies about him killing bears: Stop. the animals that you eat like chicken and pork lived their lives in boxes until they're butchered to put food in your mouths. The bears Cusackla hunts have lived their lives. He goes out, risks his life(as you can see from how close the bear got)and gets himself a meal. You guys can all shut your traps until you get off your obese butts and stop eating the processed meat that you call food.BTW,ur vids r sweet

  • damn i wouldnt have waited for it to stand up i would unloaded a cuple into it on that first step when he charged that lil bit u got balls tryin to holler at it then waitin kudos wish i coulda joined yall

  • i like wen animal kill human

  • man he is beautifull and you are the big strong man who killed him, proud of yourself brave guy.

  • cocksuckung faggot hope someone hunts ur family like u did that bear

  • Don't you just love when guys like @pet22222 hide behind the internet and suddenly grow balls enough to say something to you that they never would say to your face! My family is well protected faggot!

U need to get in touch with the fact that humans are carnivores and some of us have not forgotten that! Pussy!

  • @pet22222 People with your mentality are sad and pathetic. Hunting is a natural thing. We are predators, its why the eyes are on the fronts of our faces and not the sides of our heads. Its why we have Canines and premolars. we're meant to hunt and eat meat. and if your so against hunting then why do you even bother watching hunting videos.

  • The problem with killing bears is that most societies don't eat bears. There's no bear pizza, bear burgers, etc. Most of these bear hunts are for sport. This is part of the reason why people have a problem with it: murdering something for sport. Second, it's also because bears are highly intelligent. You're not killing chickens here, you're killing something highly self aware. Don't kill bears.

  • @freudling What do you consider "most societies"? I eat bear as do all my hunting buddies. It ends up as sausage, pepperoni and jerky but it is all used. I haven't eaten brown bear yet but maybe one day!! Some people may not eat bear but that is their loss!! And, yes, bears are usually highly aware but at 8 yards I too would have shot even though the bear stopped and stood up. Well done guys!!

  • One of this days you are going to be killed, leave the bears alone,

  • @MrZapata4772 Lighten up Francis...it's a sport

  • You call this a thrill? I took out a militant in Afghanistan on the last trip! It was more thrilling, way more thrilling.

The guy walks up a hill towards a tree, I was guessing for shad because it was dam hot that day. He put his rifle down and climbed the sparsely leaved tree. I guess there was something he could eat on it. There her was standing up on a lower branch and hold a skinnier one with one hand while reaching out with the other, thats when I plucked him one. Yeehaw!

  • @jethromayham

Nice shot keyboard warrior. I bet you haven't even been anywhere close to the desert let alone in the military and seeing combat. Idiot.

  • geez. nice vid. i want to go bear hunting so bad for the "rush" or excitement but the other side of me would feel really bad :-/ too bad its not legal to hunt terrorists...no moral dilemma for me there haha.

  • yea, the second one was a bit small but it looks like a very nice pelt. it was a very good looking bear.

  • you should have shot to the air if it was not the animal you wanted

  • If I would have had time to shoot in the air, than I would have had time to do many things. 8 yards is one jump for a Brown Bear. When I shot all I had was a ball of fur in my scope I did not even know the bear had stopped. Try it sometime. It's easy to 2nd quess what I could have/ should have done after the fact. Many have.................

  • @cusackla Uh, if I remember correctly you guys were out looking to kill a bear, right? as in "there's a bear over there, let's get him"? So you sneak up on the bear, startle him, he stands up to see what you are and then you "had to shoot him because he was right up on me." Yeah, okay, but you didn't have to be there in the first place, did you? Why is it you think you've accomplished something by turning a live bear into a dead bear when all it wanted to do was live in the woods?

  • @cusackla so true unless your there you dont have a clue last fall i was hunting whitetail and a 600 pound black bear (brown phase) walked up on me i thought it was a grizzly at first then i realized it was the bear of my dreams i shot him in the chest at 10 yards. the bear was 8 feet nose to tail with a 21.5" skull

  • Smoky bear. A million dollar shot.

  • what bullet did you use ?

  • i was using a .375 ultra-mag and a 275 grain SP bullet. I blew to pieces at 8 yards. If you look closly at the bear when it turns, you can see steam coming out of 3 different locations

  • @cusackla a 375? so there is such thing as a .375 caliber rifle? would a 30-06 work?

  • I`d given two thumbs up if you had screamed the phrase "It`s coming right for us" before you shot the bear.

  • Awesome video. I think that second bear was more surprised and was investigating you then acting aggressive. It made for a great video anyways, I wouldn't want one that close either hahaha.

  • Might not be the one you wanted but what a cool story!
