I don't think I could handle that kind of life but they look peaceful. I wish I were in such a state of tranquility. I would miss the outside world but I give them all the credit in the world for doing this and I am glad someone is in there praying.

Monastic life is a quest for a deeper and closer relationship to God through a life of personal holiness not otherwise possible. I will admit, I would go crazy in a week and probably drive the whole community crazy with me, but there are people who God calls this way.

It is an Anglican Benedictine Abbey and is recognised by the Roman Catholic Benedictines to be true Benedictine and not seperated in anyway from the other Benedictines within Catholicism.

You are mistaken. There is a world of difference between bishops and monks; and that difference is ordination.

monks are not necessarily ordained, some remain lay brothers. All monks take vows, but only some become priests.
