wow nice project! I've been modeling in Maya for some time, just started animating things, not sure if you learned this yet but there are things you can set an attribute to for example like his claws turning into a fist and the wings folding in and out so you don't have to individually do it each time. If you don't know how if you message me I am sure I can explain how.

Hey idiot, the griphones eagle's legs are forward, not backward! leon and legs are back!. Not understanding that the first part of the body is an eagle and the back of leon? griphon up your rat seems more than anything else flying. Informate before. Useless

@churuwasco excepting of course when this is supposed to be the design. I did not model this, I only rigged it, which is mentioned in the info. Fantasy creatures can be anything at all, that is the wonderful things about imaginations. Besides, "Most statues have talons, although in some older illustrations it has a lion's forelimbs; it generally has a lion's hindquarters." It can be either way depending on style.

excellent rig.. looks like it has a lot of functionality but you managed to keep the controls very neat.. the skinning looks almost perfect too.. i find that the hardest part..

one of the best rigging examples on here.. I have only done human rigs this looks like great practice i'd love a tutorial?

Blender sucks ass, just look for maya torrents, use it for free...

Or go the the website and download the "apprentice version", everything is unlocked , but you just can't render pass a certain size, or it puts an ugly water mark on it...

but to just learn it, who cares?

Absolutey free and as a matter of fact they've just realease maya 2011, it's f n amazing!!!

I've downloaded the torrent for it, I'd still recommend it, bc you're also "helping them" in the sense that there is a reason studios use maya and it's because ppl haven't really latched on to another, bc it's available...

@lion13lover You can actually get it for free on Autodesk.

Just google "autodesk student download". Its the first link at the top of the results. Click on "Get Software" and select Maya from the list. Enter in your student email so they know your a legit student.
