  • Free Trade!!! It would end all poverty!!!

  • hahahaha i loved when she said: they will all be addicted to computers hahahaa. love her

  • No one can beat Angelina Jolie; the ultimate humanitarian and my hero!

  • these African children were still lucky after all, they had the rare chance of seeing angelina jolie.. :))) i envy them in a way.. :)))

  • lmaoo i love when the dr ask the little child his name and he says something fully diff and the dr is juss lik paul

  • the fucking industrial nations capitalist stop exploiting africa!

  • this video is really inspiring. she is just lovely in every way!!!!! =D

  • angelina jolie

  • One dollar one vote needs in thw WTO needs to stop now. They encourage countries to reduce protectionism claiming it will lift them out of poverty whilst the West can happily impose the CAP and whatever else on it's agricultural imports and exports.

The 10 richest people in the world could on their own eradicate this statistically.

It's not just physical barriers that keep nations in the poverty cycle.. Look how many MEDCs have overcome physical restrictions becayse they could afford it!

  • Her laugh at 2:45 is absolutly adorable.

  • Please, please read comments from charbonelle!!! The perspective of this video is that western technologies sucha as fertilizers will "save africa" but there is another side to the story. I do, however, think it's wonderful that the students get a meal at school.

  • This diary is so inspiring. Angelina is such a fierce person. She is the most beautiful person i know both inside and out. =)

  • I really hope these conditions improve and people like Angeline Jolie and Jeffrey Sachs keep doing what they are doing. It was actually really heartbreaking watching some of this though.

  • The Green Revolution began to fall apart as the chemical fertilisers rendered soil INFERTILE and serious health problems like CANCER. As the quality of the soil deteriorated, they faced ZERO YIELDS and an inability to pay their debts. Twenty-five thousand farmers have committed suicide under these circumstances since 1997. In the state of Andhra Pradesh alone, 4,500 farmers have committed suicide in the past seven years.

  • From what you have shared, Charbonelle, it looks like there were no interventions such as community-scale composting and related organic farming methods. Would you know the status of agriculture in Andhra Pradesh today in 2009?

  • The shift from SAVED SEED to corporate monopoly of the seed supply also represents a shift from biodiversity to monoculture in agriculture.

The district of Warangal in Andhra Pradesh USED to grow diverse legumes, millets, and oilseeds.

Monocultures and uniformity increase the risk of crop failure, as diverse seeds adapted to diverse to eco-systems are replaced by the rushed introduction of uniform and often untested seeds into the market.

  • Garment manufacturers have initiated an awareness campaign on the ill effects of *Bt cotton cultivated with toxic chemicals, have now launched exclusive wear made of organic cotton.

Farmers are growing organic cotton, as it was found to be of great demand in Germany and elsewhere in Europe. DEMAND of organic apparels in DOMESTIC market has come as a boon for organic cotton growers in the state.

*FARMERS, like ENTREPRENEURS, want to do business based on mutual interest not EXPLOITATION.

  • According to Sachs:

"Africa, through no fault of its own, is TRAPPED. Held back by GEOGRAPHICAL impediments like CLIMATE, disease and ISOLATION,... it CANNOT lift itself out of poverty. "

    Solution the so-called Green Revolution???

Plz look up Vandana Shiva and the effects of the Green Revolution in Idia which created a battle between farmers and MONSANTO who manufactures the seeds and fertilizers.

  • My heart breaks when I see these poor children, and here we worry about being fat!

  • i so agree with you this broke my heart.

  • Dr. Sachs is a hero!

  • the condition of these people is actually worse than it seems even on this video. im from a country where people are either really poor or really rich so i no. angie rules!

  • I like this video and the other two before it, i am a fan of angelina, and of course i admire her mostly for what she is doing for these people! she looks so normale, pure and interessed to them in these videos and not many people in hollywood do these things. Anyway, not only famous people should stop and think or even do something, i think that is also one of angelina's messages to youth: stand up and doing something.

  • i think that every single american thats fortunate has money needs to give to donate so kids and adults can live their lives without pain. Angelina and Jeff have such good hearts and deserve alot--we need more people like her and Jeffrey Sachs.

  • thank God for people like Jeffrey Sachs and Angelina Jolie.. This video along with the first two makes me think how lucky I am.. It really touches my heart and it made me cry.. Someday I want to work for the UN too..

  • wow, angelina is so awesome, thank god for people like her..keep up the good work!

  • It makes me want to break down seeing these people living in these conditions. I see that in Angie too, what a huge heart she has. We definately need more human beings like this in our world. -Britt

  • She is so awesome beautifull

  • it is so evident that we americans many times under estimate how much we have!!!this documentary is truly motivating.we as a wealthier society have to make a commitment to make this world a better place[not even trying to sound cliche]It is possible to make this tremendous positive change in the world, and we as "the wealthiest" nation have to contribute to noble causes such as this!

  • inally someone who uses their fame for good! (and the lasting kind as well, not just donations that will run out and then be forgotten).

  • Help poor communities develop into viable local economies, promote the Millennium Development Goals! Please contact the CENTER FOR COMMUNITY WORK & PEOPLE'S DEVELOPMENT in Manila, Philippines, a non profit organization that works to alleviate poverty and improve livelihood in many villages with nutrition, health, education and water projects.

  • Shes so cool...

  • Im crying now..this job is absolutely beautiful,useful..I lovee you Angie not because you are sexy, beautiful etc..You are doing really good things for telling to the people whats going on..and I smiled when you tried to say ''lalalalalalal'' :) ALLAH(GOD) bless you..

  • god bless her.....truly a superstar!!!!

  • god bless her.....

  • Google "support the Earth Institute at Columbia University" to find out how to donate to these excellent projects.

  • i want to do this....im goin to do this

  • you dont have to earn 20 million for a movie to help people. with one dollar of your pocket you can help poor people in africa. you can change their life.

  • touching

  • I really think this video has changed my way of thinking about the poverty in Africa. Angelina Jolie is a great woman, because she doesn't only think about money and being famous, she cares about other people. And I love her because of that.

  • Yes, life seems easily solvable when you earn 20 million a movie.

  • At least she's putting her celebrity status to good use in raising awareness, and she aligns herself with the poor and disenfranchised. If only more people -- regardless of their income or social status -- would do that, rather than resort to apathy, criticism or hedonism.

  • i totally agree! :)

  • And I forgot envy.

  • btw, thank you very much for uploading such a wonderful video! :)

  • @eboulter Well, now that she DOES make so much money, she can help. And that's what she's doing.

  • Angelina Jolie, i am poor, please help me

  • Angelina Jolie is sexi!!

  • second from None

    Ratherford Mwaruta

  • this is it? why didn't they show how the changes were made in this village? Where did the funding come from? How was it dispersed and managed and what programs were implemented? `

  • The total cost to rehabilitate Sauri was around $70 per person per year. For more information, read The End of Poverty by Jeffrey D. Sachs

  • Yeah, I read his book. Now I'm reading Easterly's. Sachs' book was insanely dissapointing.

  • It all comes back down to education.

  • each of us can do more than we do.

  • The decision by celebrities such as Jolie to become involved smooths the way for significant changes to take place since they are doing what they do at the behest of some social consciousness or awareness. She has risen in stature as a human being through her efforts to help others. Now, if we can get the athletes involved as well as the rest of us even more rapid movements for change CAN be possible & effectuated.

    "cat"

  • awww bless them

  • Good video, like the first two parts. A lot of work remains before poverty is eradicated.
