  • so how does it take for these things to break down in the garbage

  • @thetim95tam What exactely do you mean with your question? The wheel rim in the smart forvision concept car is made of an extremely durable and stable plastic material. The advantage of using plastic in such a high-performance application lies in its low weight compared to a metal wheel rim. They offer a high level of stability and crash safety even under extreme conditions. They are not meant to break down.

  • @632428 High-performance composite materials offer a high level of stability and crash safety. Numerous tests, standard for steel and aluminium wheels, such as the rotating bar fatigue test, test on the biaxial wheel-test rig, impact test and radial run-out test, demonstrated the potential of the rims for series production. These tests subject the wheels to the most extreme conditions such as driving at high speeds around bends, emergency braking or driving through potholes.

  • how will those do on tuner cars ? are they strong enough for racing ?

  • yeah, but are lighter than my Enkei RPF-01 at 15.2lbs ((17x7.5))

  • It's very rare when engineering firms have nice promotional videos like these. Really well done. =D

  • very cool. I'm waiting for a RWD electric with the a single EV motor right on the rear axcel. A small truck would be an awesome application!

  • This is immediate need for FLIGHTS
