Amazing video. Wonderful videos! I really hope i go japan soon! I was meant to go there for an intership at tokyo uni though its sooo hard to get into. Well next time im still a fresher.. lol the arabs use there hands for the drums. And the japanese use speacial drumming sticks. Brilliant.

I use to play drums. This guy is average. I've seen a black kid on the streets of NYC do this with plastic buckets. Now _that_ kid was amazing. Nonetheless, your video is 5*. :)
Now THAT'S some quality drumming! A few questions, though. 1. what was that white object in the background when he was wailing on that big drum? 2. Was there a period where the priests chanted? Some chanting would have been AWESOME to hear along with the drumming. 3. How long did this gentleman drum for? He's incredible! Thanks!
2:12 to 2:20 sounds like belly dancing music.....oh here is a question :is there belly dance in japan??if there isn't what type of dancing do they perform?
I liked the big drum..I want one>but I will be kicked from my neighborhood I guess.5\5 because I think it was really loud but you stayed there and taped it for us..keep up the great job,
I was impressed with the clip I saw when you visited the shrine. Glad to see more of the performance. Quite impressive, I can't imagine how this actually sounded, my little laptop speakers sure don't do his art justice. Keep up the good posts, this guy was incredible.
Is a Taiko drummer the same as a "demon drummer" or is that just a different thing completely! Watched a cool documentary about them how they hardcore train for 2yrs! Insane dedication. Cool vid
I've seen the group YAMATO in our concert house twice some years ago. It's so amazing to feel the drums in your stomach even 20 meters away from the stage.
if i had to play the that huge drum with those baseball bats i would've hit my head at least 10 times:))

Very cool. Where do they practice? I'm guessing that my neighbors would have a problem with it pretty soon.
