  • of course this is a good cover... this was taken in the 70's/80's.. thats when ppl actually had talent

  • @screamingismyair Thanks, the year was 1984 and you are so right.

  • NICE! Money was great. Enjoying watching my sensei Larry.

  • That was great ♫ ♫

  • love you Uncle Preston!

  • This is Rod the guitar player, Thanks for the kind words. I just started playing again with George Rumbol form the Dead End Kids, Mark Evans from Heavens Edge, Jack Kelly from Wintergreen, and Chris Nerone from Motornature. Our band is called "Diamond Dogs" and we do a David Bowie show. We will be a club called McStews in Levittown, PA on 2/16 and back at the Pennant east (formerly Dick Lees) on March 19th. Hope to see you there! Bring friends, it will be like old times

  • @Rodmarr1 Rod it's Tess..i've seen the pics and I'm so glad to see you..I'm friends with Mark, Zuff. and Guy..you look great..all of you guys are so talented..glad to see all of you still having a good time..rock on...

  • I used to go to Dick Lees and see Money. Great band. The 70's and 80's had some great bands in South Jersey and Philly. Witness, Pegasus, Wintergreen, Arety, Crystal Ship...The list goes on and on. The competition was fierce. This is when dedicated musicians existed, unlike today. I miss those days.

  • What venue is this?

  • @eddiec360

    Van Zandts in Harrisburg, PA

  • xxxxxxxx

  • I worked at The Penalty Box and got to be friends with these guys in the late '70's and early '80's. I got to see and hear them at least 10 days a month for 6 years. To this day, still the most talented local band I've ever heard!

    Thanks guys,

    "Lapper"

  • Money was always my favorite. Over the years I told countless stories in Hawaii & the West Coast of my days growing up and seeing this band. I am a singer now and $MONEY$ was the reason. Thanks.

  • Yeah Rod, wtf is it with you? Post them Money videos!!

    :c)

    -GuyP

  • Saw you guys at Dick's .

    ALWAYS unbelievable.

  • Sorry it's not clear below ... but to be clear .. the note of mine below is for you Jiggs46.

The place in every performance was jumping.

    Always energetic ... always real!!

  • man i miss the days partying at dick lees n wildwood , rehearsing in Rod's garage

  • Spent every weekend in the summer seein Money and Supa Philly.

Queen couldnt pull off the middle vocal section live....I'm told "The Nerds" could do the entire song....

Money was the #1 act at this time.

  • this cover = EPIC WIN

  • Damn I can't believe this was done 26 years ago....argh....

    loved the band!!!

  • Money definitely was a top band in those days. I recall a night at Dick Lee's (Pennant East) when Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora showed up after playing a concert in Philly. They were their to trying to help Money produce a new single. Jon & Richie actually went on stage and played a set of their own music. Great night! Miss those days.

  • Money was certainly a top band back in the day. Money, Pegasus, Stitches, David Chistopher Band, Witness, Energized...all great bands, all "A" list.

  • Was there someone in the band known as Eggman?

  • Jiggs46, you need to shut your face! This is my uncle's band, and they were number 1 in Philly. You wouldn't know real music if it bit you in the ass.

  • what a band they don't make them like this anymore.....this band should be a learning tool for all bands..Nick stem

  • Oh my god, this my cousin's husband and I only wish I was old enough at the time ( I missed it by just a few years) to see them play live. I am so grateful I can see this now after all these years.

  • Number 1 band in Philly......NOT!

  • no need to be rude - as a matter of fact the band was an A list band in the tri-state area for well over a decade and was revered by many. so cool your tool fool.

  • A list? ROTFLMAO

  • You have the right to have your opinion ... nothing wrong with that ... no matter how wrong or misinformed you are.

You know they are doing some great medical advances in transplants .. maybe they can help you with a taste transplant cause it seems that you lost whatever u may or maynot have had.

Money was always a sure fire great show ... and always ... on the MONEY!!

    Shame you couldn't enjoy it.

  • Very impressive cover. The guitarist sounds like a cross between Ritchie Blackmore and Randy Rhoads. I wouldn't go as far to say that Queen couldn't perform Bohemian Rhapsody...its just that they chose not to. Brian May actually could sing, he's quite a gifted singer now. John never sang. That was done for just a look and inclusion. I'm interested in seeing what else this band called "Money" can do.

  • Thanks for the compliment of my guitar playing. Keep watching, I will be posting more videos soon, Styx, kansas, Night ranger, and others.

  • dude they "chose not to" because they couldn't do the studio version justice - there's an old saying, "a man's got to know his limitations" -C. Eastwood -dirty harry

    :c)

  • Well,,,,we're waiting for those videos!!!

  • Hey Rod,

My favorite was when you guys would do "Icarus- Borne on the Wing of Steel" by Kansas. Your guitar, Larry's voice with that "big" Hammond Leslie organ sound, was truely THE BEST. Thanks for the great memories!

    Dave "Lapper"

  • Money was the best band I ever had the privilege to perform with. Rod, Larry and (perfect-pitch) Zuff were incredible musicians. Guy Partin here, still rockin, singin, and performing somewhere in Central PA - Still have all my hair! lol - just not quite as long - thanks to everyone who posted these kind remarks..sure wish we could get back together again for one last curtain call! :c)

  • Guy...you helped take Money to a higher level...don't you ever forget that !

    Zuff

  • thanks my friend - the older I get the more I miss this band!!!!! Just had to quit the band I was in for 2 years - looking for something new again! - onward throguh the fog - remember all those games of centipede and milipede? -good times, good times...hehehe

  • Do I hear $MONEY$ Reunion???

  • This is Andy...I was the bass player for the David Christopher band from 1982 to 1988. This version is excellent! What was the bass player's name? I remember Rod, Larry and Zuff but not him. Great memories...

  • The bass player is Guy Partin

  • Rod my old friend.. great to see this video.. Jim Evans here remember the Barney's Bashes and Rasputins Take care my friend

  • How could I forget them!! Great to hear from you, I hope all is well.

    Rod

  • this band just got better with age.And Yes JD we all took it for granted. Lucky to have a few live shows of our Zep and Tull set recorded .. Jack Kolber Drummer Arety 75-80

  • Awesome!! Unbelievable! One of my favorite songs and done here effortlessly! What talent!

  • Just wish one of us would have filmed the "Wall" show you guys were doing! I guess back then we all took it for granted that it would go on forever.... sad..

  • indeed we DId take an awful lot for granted back then -argh...hope all is well in your world - you guys were great!!!

    Guy Partin

  • hey these guys pulled off a great cover!!!

  • My bud,Chris sent me this video!Love it!I saw Money,I believe,in 1984 at Dick Lee's.I was impressed then and still am!!!

  • what do you mean not even Queen? They could if they just practiced. wonder why they never did though :(

  • hey man, no diss to Queen but in reality only Freddie and the drummer could sing - Deacon and May could not....they would play the pre-recorded bohem. through their PA live, then come in playing when the guitar solo started - Freddie would end it on the piano...

  • Uncle Rod, this is really good!!!! I wish you were still in a band so I could watch you play! Hope all is well

    ~Laura~
