I'm trying to find a Phantom of the Opera commercial from the '90s where the phone number was like 222-2222. If anybody knows about it on youtube, please post a link.
-sigh-If only I could back in time to the Broadway opening to see it.I saw it,though, back in April 2009 on BW (with Howard McGillan,I'm gonna miss him when he leaves this July)Howard was a great Phantom.....BUT NOT AS AWESOME AS MICHAEL CRAWFORD!
I've seen Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular, but I will see The Phantom of the Opera in Los Angeles soon. It's a beautiful musical that Andrew Lloyd Webber has ever created.
I have seen it 4 times and even got to go back stage the first time to meet franc d'ambrosio when i was seven. I have four more comming this Christmas in SF and couldnt be more excited
I just saw the new POTO commercial today and I've got to say that this one is WAY better. I hate how the new one just uses the word "Phantom" and the crappily animated half-mask face and rose. I LOVE this musical but I ALW can go f$#% himself because he's ruining the greatest musical ever for the rest of us (I know I sound nasty but have you guys read the synopsis for the sequel he's creating??)
continuing on my first comment, i was a litte confused about what it was about. combining what my mom told me and my own strange thoughts, i thought the phantom was a man who was in a war and was scarred and disfigured. he hid in the opera, fell in love with a beautiful girl and everyone thought he was the phantom, but the real phantom was the guy in the red death costume (i thought he looked like an evil clown) who drops the chandelier during the masquerade scene. now i know better of courseLOL
i remember seeing this commercial (or one very similar to it) when i was little and it scared me/interested me at the same time. i never got into it until about a year ir two ago n i LOVE IT!! Michael Crawford is the best!!!
This isn't the musical with the most performances (AND STILL RUNNING) in Broadway history for NOTHING!!! My FAVORITE MUSICAL EVER!! Saw it in Cleveland on the 2000 tour!
I LOVE this show, I'm seeing it again next month in Sacramento. Obviously the show is doing something right when it comes to town for a month while other shows come for two wks.
I seen the show in 97 it was my 18th B-Day gift, I was in shock at what an amazing show it was. 2002 the show came back to Sacramento and my hubby took me, I was nervous he wouldn't like it but after the show he said he liked it very much concidering this is a guy who is a Slayer& Black Sabbath fan.
I saw The Phantom Of The Opera on broadway it is great so cool special affects. In the part when the lights fall down i thought they were gonna smash the ppl
Regardless of which, its the longest running show in broadway and its now the primary tourist attraction at night in NYC. NYC has Phantom to be proud of while London has Les Miserables.
Well gypsy right now is running as a revival. Phantom is still in its original runthrough since the 80's. You can't simply run a show that long when you're not getting so much praises and a steady volume of ticket sales.
The number is a NYC number, with the 212 area code.

I wish it wasn't...

Phantom started in London 2 years before Broadway.
NHK1111111111 3 years ago
All of ALW's musicals do that. Starlight Express started on the West End in 1986, for example, then came to Broadway in 1988. I saw it in NYC.
jws1272 3 years ago
Really? Last time I checked, "Gypsy" was called that.
