  • You did a great job young lady!

  • When I was in school I learned about Helen Keller and Ann. Such brave people.

  • I've read a whole book about her and I was shocked by how strong a character she had. I'd like to be in 1 of 1000 so determined as her one day. She had 0% sight and 0% hearing, which is really rare and yet she not only learned step by step the meaning of words but in the long run got higher education and became a social activist and writer! Few people with full sight and hearing achieve that.

  • i really didnt know anything about her, this is an amazing video. very educational.

    thank you.

  • Thanks for this video.Love it and love helen keller!She lead an extraordinary life and had great achievements.She was beautiful,and bright.She tought us as well as Ann sullivan that nothing is more important than love and spirit.And helen learnt to be guided all her life long.Not anyone can succeed great things all by himself.He needs other people.We would be nothing without other people;

  • @kular22 dumb is another way of saying you cant talk.

  • fabulous job!!!!

  • How did she read lips if she is blind? I am confused.

  • Excellent job! What a wonderful soul Helen Keller was. Thank you for shining a bright light onto this beacon of humanity.

  • This is very well done. I'm sure you got a good grade for it. I really enjoyed this.

  • It's pretty funny how mainstream depictions of Keller tend to omit her affiliation with the IWW and various socialist groups. (That's not directed at this video.)

  • It's pretty funny how the mainstream depiction of Keller tends to omit her activities with the IWW and her political affiliation with socialists.

  • Thank you so much for this. I really learned a lot.

  • Well done!

  • isn't sign language universal...so if kids were all taught sign laguage in school they could communicate with anyone on the planet regardless of the language they speak??

  • Sign language is not universal, though many people believe it is so. There is American Sign Language, French Sign Language, Japanese Sign Lanugage, etc.

There are even signs that vary regionally, much like spoken languages have regional dialects.

  • I give you an A+++ for this video! Well researched, nicely edited and your intonation when reading kept me interested right to the end. What a giant contribution she has made! Well done to you for "using" her to make yet another wonderful contribution!

  • I see it is embedded in this vid.

  • Sign language is not just for communicating with deaf people. It is also great for communicating across quiet or noisy rooms, through windows and just so others in the room don't understand what you are saying ;-)

Hope your project goes well! This documentary is good. Check also one called helen keller and anne sullivan on here - from 1930.

  • A marvellous project that raises the human spirit! BRAVO!

  • I hope you got an A+.

    This is fantastic!!

  • What people don't know is that she was a star linebacker for over 20 years.

  • Wow, Good Job. It looks so professional.

Like a documentary you would see on PBS.

  • She was a very impressive and inspiring woman. I'm sure you got an A for that video! : )

  • I remember reading about her when i was 12. Soon after I was so inspired by her I took a sign langauge class to communicate with those with this sort of disability. I tell you it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I'm proud to articulate for them when ever I encounter some one with a hearing impairment

  • I'm ashamed that I took ASL (American Sign Language) for two whole years and have not learned anything about Helen Keller. Thanks for sharing!

  • A++ for you great video

  • What a great video. You put it together very well. There were several points in your presentation that I didn't know. Helen Keller and Ann Sullivan were amazing women. I'm sure you got a high mark on your project. I know I am impressed.

  • this is a nice video :]

    i learned something new thx

  • fantastic job! well done! did you get a good mark for this? i hope so...

  • Beautiful

    Jesper, Denmark

  • wow thanks this helped me heaps

  • That was fantastic :b

  • Well done. I am 41 and I just saw "The Miracle Worker" yesterday. I had heard the story but didn't grasp quite how amazing Helen and Ann Sullivan were until I saw the movie. - What a wake-up call to anyone who thinks they have difficulties to overcome.

  • You sound quite young; you did a beautiful job in not only reading fluidly, but bringing out the beauty of Helen Keller and her life.

  • She is definitely a genious

  • What ann inspiration to society

  • Great Job!

  • i had tears in my eyes

  • This is a great video athinkingblonde8. I can't believe its a grade 9 project, do you want to make a career out of producing?

  • how does a blind person read lips?

  • She Touched Them While They Moved I Think...

  • lol she explains it exactly during the video, around 5:00. Helen keller speaks too, unreal. Unreal.

  • She placed her hand on Annie's lips and throat. She felt the vibration of Annie's throat and the movement of Annie's lips.

  • i seriously learned alot from this...GREAT JOB !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    HELEN KELLER... RIP

  • You go girl. How far did you go in the competition? It was an amazing video. I'm parically blind she is my biggest role mode even before I lost part of my sight!

  • I meant 5:20 to 5:44

  • 5:20 - 5:30 made me cry :D great job 5 star rating

  • Great job on your history project!

  • Dont be so hard to xlovexsuicidex...

I would not know what to do if I would become deaf or blind.

Im just 18 and the thought of losing those abilitys is horrible...I always feel sorry for those people and I always think that this is so unfair.

Fate can be horrible...but thanks to Helen Keller many deaf and blind people found more help.

  • This is an exceptional presentation! Thank you for sharing!!!!

  • Excellent job on your History Project. Hope you got a good grade.

  • she is bound to

  • Proof that one should never underestimate the power of the mind...a real-life superhero!!!Great post!

  • Helen Keller, beautiful inside and out

  • thank you for making this video. Keller is an awesome hero.

  • A+ it rocked rip helen k

  • One criticism.

Why did you decide to put the video of Helen Keller speaking in a smaller window in the corner and not enlarge it to the size of the entire screen?

  • if i was her, i would kill myself cause without hearing, life is a misstake, you cannot live without your hearing

  • well xlovexsuicidex, I think your sign in signature speaks volumes about you. Being deaf is not the end of the world. Something tells me you would use any excuse to kill yourself.

  • thats just the way i feel about it, music is my life and if i where deaf i would blow my brains out

  • Well it's a good thing Helen Keller didn't share your philosophy. She lived a long life and was quite an inspiration for folks. She's been gone almost 40 years and she still IS an inspiration. Hopefully you will never have to experience deafness or blindness or any other disability. But for all those folks who have and lived to conquer the limitations, they are quite miraculous.

  • indeed

  • Great video - much more interesting than just reading articles about her. Thanks for uploading.

  • Traducilo al español!!!

  • Very well done. I have been saturated with Helen's words since my seven year old became enthralled with her. This was very well done. When you mentioned Mark Twain, I just so happened to finish a chapter In "MidStream" where Helen devoted an entire chapter to her best friend. They were exceptionally close and she never recovered from the loss of Mr. Clemens.

  • Amazing job! I really wanted to learn about Helen Keller, and found this very useful! Both these women were extremely amazing!

  • Dear Carissa,

Thank you for making this, and then posting it to Youtube. I've put it on my Myspace page. You are an inspiration! Helen was a truly amazing woman, as indeed was Anne Sullivan. I marvel at the way these two women came into each other's lives and how each would have been, without the other. Sometimes 'paths' our destined to cross. Anne's unhappy early years, ensured her 100% committment to Helen. From two such spirits a miracle was born. Thank you again, Carissa.

  • Beautifully done! I teach Helen Keller as one of the Virginia 2nd grade Standards of Learning. Would you mind if I copied this to show to my classes? I would, of course, credit you. (Our web software screens out YOUTUBE.) Thanks for your hard work!

  • Sure, you can use it.

  • I have seen PBS documentaries that weren't this good. You are to be commended, young lady, for doing such a terrific job. I hope you got an A+!

  • very well put together, well done and regards from england.

  • i have to make a presentation nexrt week at school and i chose Helen Keller because she had a really extroardinary life!! she's a hero! :D

  • Excellent job. You truly are a thinking blond..

  • That was amazing! I really didn't know much about Helen Keller. but I do know, thanks to your video. Really well done, and really nice voice.

  • this is a very good video good job

  • nice documentary.i can understand it mor than a play

  • Very excellent work. You should be very proud of your project. I hope you got an A+. You should have!

  • Wow, this is really good! Very nicely edited! This should be aired on TV.

  • Excellent work. You've got a talent for reading aloud. I do some of that myself, and honestly you're just a touch sing songy at this point, but a little tutoring and you could do that professionally. Be proud. : )

  • Very good job on your documentary. Can't get much better then that.
