Wow I am not familier withthe original recording of this tune but this sounds more like it came from about 1969-1973 The Progressive Rock age. It sounds like something Traffic or Canned Heat or a number of other bands of that time would have done. I love your Smiths stuff, but if I'm being honest this isn't your best work. You can tell, as you say, that you aren't that familiar with the song which shows up in the nuances of the guitar parts on the record. Although the 12-string acoustic section is very good and a lovely sound. Still all good work though.

Nice, it's incredibly hard to try and replicate Reni's warm rhythmic style on an electronic kit. And Seinfeld series 9 on the speaker there, apparently Phil Spector used to watch comedy programs to keep his insanity at bay (that's when he wasn't pointing guns at people).
