This ONLY works if you're connecting a computer to a television, not a computer to another computer.

@higginbottoms55 Does it have a DVI, or a HDMI?

If it has DVI, you're good. (It's the larger type of VGA/RGB connectors).

If your tv has hdmi, and your computer either has hdmi or dvi, you're good.

You can get a DVI > HDMI Adapter for about a buck (tops) and then get an hdmi cable to connect to the DVI one.

Then connect the hdmi cable to your tv.

go to the desk top of your pc then right click and a box will come up then go to "graphics properties" then a box should pop up then click monitor :) subscribe if i helped ;)

You need to change your input, look through hdmi, compenent1,2, video1, video2

should be on the front of ur screen or on your remote and see which one shows ur display!

question, can u set up your hdtv as a pc monitor AND for use with the ps3 at the same time? if so, i assume that you can only have 1 or the other on at any given time. for example if my ps3 is using the hdmi source then i COULD not then use my pc until i first end my ps3 session.

please help.

So pretty much all you have to do is connect a VGA cord to your computer and to your tv and connect a audio cord into your tv and computer. Man that's easy.

@210johndeere All you need is the two connectors. Also, use your operating systems stuff to set it to 720p or 1080p (1080i CRT's need an interlacer inserted in the middle)

I have a prob! Got me an awesome Tube HDTV that has a great picture, better than any flat panels or plasmas I've seen yet. Yet, when I use the DVI, it's forced into 16:9 (can't change)

When I hook it to my PC (asus 5870 video card) and set the res to 1080, the desktop is chopped in half (no taskbar shows) I have tried 1152 resolution and it shows everything, but I just hate that I can't use 1080. Would I notice a drop in quality if do DVI to component? Input 5 (component) doesnt force 16:9

not all hdtv's have a RGB input, It depends on your tv bud, . My 1080 P hdtv has a RGB input so i can connect my computer if i wanted

hi there, i see that you using your hdtv hook to the computer. how long have you have your hdtv hook on the computer? i have friend told me what was best buy in salem, oregon having problem with people who returning their hdtv back to best buy. best buy saying must use vizio brand can only be accept to work with computers. this is why i wanted to ask youtube people to see how long you all have hd on your's computer from the day you buy the hdtv until now... let me know asap. thank you.

I connect VGA pc to HDTV. I can see windows loading screen and computer brand etc. and when it gets to login screen>> this appears on a black screen>> NO SIGNAL

it will work even if its not an hdtv, but u will still need the outputs and cables required to watch it.
