  • i ment what song is he singing at the begaining

  • what song

  • clean hip hop...REAL hip hop.

  • So what is "fake" Hip Hop. I thought music was expression? I also thought Hip Hop had no boundaries.

Because you don't like what's going on today doesn't mean you should slap the hard working people in the face.

Do you walk into every food place and yell, "your food sucks?"

These artist work extremely hard. Despite of what you believe. A song is hard to make. It take writers, producers, engineers and lots and lots of patience. Hip Hop has evolved as he said!

  • With respect, Calicotv301I think I can answer that. I agree hip hop has changed and not in a positive way either. Producers are shrewd and only care about making hits.(gimmics) ie.One hit wonders. No musicians.. all the music is sampled or synthesized,(No originality). Writers? LOL Yea they really work hard.(Chicken noodle soup) Hiphop, like any other music used to require talent. These days, drop a few names or be related to a rapper and you're in(Favoritism) All that crap reflects on the music.

  • Let me put it to you in this perspective.

    1. Words come from the dictionary. Hip Hop is about communication. So, your job is to make music so a 28 yr old, and a 14 year can understand at the same time by using words they can understand, after following millions of emcees, by BEING DIFFERENT.

    Get my drift.

    Now...

sounds come from keyboards that are already programmed. It's like try to be EXTREMELY VERSATILE with a violin after following 20+ years of violinist in that same genre

  • The point I'm getting at brother is change. It's the one thing that's constant. Positive or negative, it's going to occur. I just think that the change that occured in rap over the years became a negative change. Wouldn't u agree? You said yourself they play whack bs on the radio and u haven't listened to it in a minute...I kinda envy you for that. lol And all this electronic stuff is not giving a challenge to these kids. They need knowledge of musical instruments...

  • These kids need to read, write, and understand the language of music. Screw the programmed sounds, let him play the violin for about 20+ years,or any other instrument of their choice. Hiphop is communication(true to form)But so is music. It's the unspoken word(Tones). That's older then verbal communication. I can't change the vibe but there should at least be a universal law with HipHop. And that is,Everybody who's a Hiphopper should be educated in music first. That way we keep things close to...

  • Now...

Chicken Noodle Soup...I don't care for it, but, it was her style. Her words. For everything you like, someone will hate and vice versa. You can't Lil Mama think like your fav rapper and vice versa. In her mind, it's hot.

Yes, some people have gimmicks, but success can often be about some type of gimmick no matter what you are doing.

A hot dog cost $2.00 for 12, but if you sell them on the street with a nice wrapper, chili cheese, and the works, you can sell 1 for $2.00

  • ..."Starting point" I'm all for a young brother getting his big break even if I'm not feelin his/her material, but I'm strongly opposed of these electronic toys that makes it easy for them to make music. I think that's hurting these kids intellectually. Not to mention the corny-ass sounds they produce. It's breeding laziness into my youth and I don't like that. That's why groups like The Roots sound good because they have Natural Sound. But everything else you said, I agree with.

  • Now...you make many blanket statements. You have to realize that you learn from the ones before you.

If there was no Kurtis Blow, there'd be no KRS-1, if there was no Ray Charles, there'd be no Kurtis Blow.

In Ray Charles "Busted" he recites...

"My Bills Are All Due And Im Down With The Flu...Cotton Is Down To A Quarter A Pound."

    And so forth.

It's a RHYME. Someone took that style and switched up the vibe. So when you speak about originality, there's no real starting point.

  • Now...I'd say, that CROOKED I ROYCE DA 5'9 OUTKAST TECH 9NE IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE JOEL ORTIZ AESOP ROCK and so forth. It's a lot of folks that are hot...you may be listening to the radio - which I haven't in ages. If you listen to the Geto Boys "We Can't Be Stopped 1992" - Radio plays wack bs or Willie D "Where My Trophy" - At the grammys the same succa get nominated 5&6 times. Radio had wack then. The game is just flipped, wack is on the radio, and hot in in the streets.
  • Holy crap Curtis breakin at 48! LOL! Respect!

  • Amazing..... Amazing Oldschool...Amazing Hip-Hop....

  • hehehe i give him credit for breakdancing at 48 LOL he still got it... big ups for Kurtis :)

  • wish i was at this concert :) this is awesome :)

  • i love this song my dad plays it every christmas
