The Posies - Solar Sister (Black Session 1994)

They are one of the underrated gems of the alternative rock era. I saw them live in 1990 in Cleveland and was so impressed I went out and bought Dear 23 that evening and have been a fan since. I grew up in the '60's and '70's and the 90's music was just as exciting with so many heavy bands. These guys had the vocal harmonies of the Hollies with the song writing ability of Big Star and somehow got lost with all the other Seattle bands in the 90's. They are still my favorite though.

Warning : the sound has been recorded during a "Black Session" but the pictures seem to come from various sources. A "black session" is a gig recorded at Maison de la Radio in Paris (France) in a radio programm directed by Bernard Lenoir.

@jrm81 Yeah, I don't know of any footage from the black session shows. It's more or less a fan video using their video footage + my favorite live audio performance.

This falls under the category of a perfect song - the whole album is quite good...but solar sister is one of those songs I wish i had written. perfect pop/punk blend.
