Nice list ! This was my top 10 at the end of 2007:
1. Alva Noto - Xerrox vol I 2. Ignatz - II 3. My Fun - Sonorine 4. Meg Baird- Dear Companion 5. Ben Frost - Theory of Machines 6. DeepChord - Vantage Isle 7. Tin Hat - The Sad Machinery of Spring 8.DeepChord - The Coldest Season 9. Guiseppe Ielasi - August 10. Mariee Sioux - Faces in the Rocks
Lot of similarities here and there XD That album by The Field shows up somewhere around place 11-20 in my list
@maanvaarder1 Nice list yourself! I've always been fascinated by native american culture, so I'm checking out that Mariee Sioux album right now and loving it.
Agree with Kool, I love this series! DeepChord, must get some. Love that you included The Ys Street Band EP, I love "Colleen" and think it's one of her best songs.
@dvdude30 Thanks, DeepChord is some deep and atmospheric techno bliss, they just released a new one this week called Hash-Bar Loops. That Joanna EP sure is a nice one.
Love this series! We started buying vinyl around 2006 or so. Wish From Here We Go Sublime had a full album release. Anyway great choices and I like the list, especially the top 5 and Panda Bear, Burial, LCD, Robert Wyatt, Low, MIA, Of Montreal, etc. Also very cool to see that someone else is a Yoko Ono fan in the VC. I remember there being a lot of great metal released in 2007 like Wolves in the Throne Room, Electric Wizard, Torche, Baroness, Angelic Process, Jesu, Alcest, High on Fire, etc.
@KoolRanchDressing : ) Most of these other albums you list are close to making it in these videos, so you're spot on. I'm sure you've noticed by now that I'm not a very big metal fan, but I have heard and enjoyed some such as that Wolves in the Throne Room album Two Hunters, I am a fan of every genre to some extent, so someday you'll have to give me a list of metal recommendations. Thanks for all your comments.
how's your record player? i'm keeping an open eye in the market for a pretty decent one myself. great video, btw.

@4jester It's a good all-around turntable, built well, and nice sound, what I need to upgrade are the computer speakers I'm currently using with it.

@dvdude30 I also prefer the version of "Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie" on that EP to the LP version on Milk Eyed Mender.

Some other non-metal favs from 2007:
Battles' Mirrored, Dirty Projectors' Rise Above, Earth's Hibernaculum, Holy Fuck's LP, Grinderman's S/T, Justice's †, Jens Lekman's Night Falls Over Kortedala, Liars's S/T, The National's Boxer, No Age's Weirdo Rippers, Spoon's Ga Ga..., St. Vincent's Marry Me, etc.
I think we have around 75 albums on vinyl from this year, crazy.
