@TheNME99 In my opinion, Cammy does good against characters with a bad defense/wakeup game (as long as you're able to get in and keep pressure) but has to work harder against charge/grapplers like Zangief, Balrog, E Honda, Guile. Also Fei Long because a good Fei is a brick wall.

I still win and lose a lot of matches that are both in and out of my favor so it's honestly all about how good you personally are with that matchup because in high level play you actually have to adjust

1) the deeper the cannon strike is the more frame advantage you get, so adjust accordingly-- also not very recommended because it leave you open for punishing but using heavy cannon strike to whiff something light/medium so you avoid a counter ultra can be done

2) yes dp can be mashed if you do it from too high but if it can be a true blockstring if low enough

3) extremely early read (read: guess)

This guide was incredibly helpful, this is my first real attempt at a fighting game. Used to play a bit of SF2 in my childhood but that was about it. Anyway I fell in love with Cammy the instant I played with her, she's incredible.

I was naturally using the pokes you suggested so I'm happy :P working on links and general cancel combos. How would you say the best way to get into a projectile-uppercut spammer? I can't seem to whiff my Cannon Strikes very well

@SkulkerZX Hey, you don't need to whiff Cannon Strikes as it has poor recovery time for whiffing plus the height restriction. Watch for any unsafe fireballs and jump in when ready. You can also use EX-Hooligan for full screen fireballs and EX-Spiral Arrow for anything closer. As for SRK-happy people, watch out for any obvious jump-ins. Try crossing over with a crossup or Cannon Strike on their wakeup, and for people who mash, pause and block after doing a block string.

Hey, hero, you mentioned option selecting spiral arrow and cannon spike. Can you elaborate? I'm not very good with option selects, so I'm not too sure on what to do here...

@2xSOdama Hi there! As a simple option select, you can jump in with heavy kick and input Cannon Spike or Spiral Arrow before you hit the floor. That's all you need to do in order to pull it off.

I am soo mad I didn't see this when this came out. I was soo lost cause they killed my Cammy game, not by just removing the quick Cannon Strike but screwing up my spiral arrow and making cannon spike distance decreased. Man I mean I will still have issues playing against better players but I now have a better chance now that I understand AE Cammy better. @gregidot to be quite honest i don't have a very static reference point to say how easy cammy is to learn. i obviously have to say you do have to put in work, but once you can execute her specials/combos consistently her gameplan is just like every rushdown character. you'll need a few hot reads for people who know their options though which is what makes cammy really fun imo

cammy isn't hard to learn, its just that a lot of her specials are not really safe so u have to know when u use them, since they took out her instant cannon spike she has a tough time opening up people who do nothing but hold down back and crouch tech all round. She has good normals and they are easy to link, but than again u have to be really close to someone to do any damage.

@LosoTalented You're going to need to time your jabs so that they are linked into each other, not cancelled. If you space them too far apart it won't combo, but if you space them too close to each other they will cancel into each other therefore not letting you cancel into a special move. Pay attention to the timing in this video, and practice it in training mode until you can get it consistently! Good luck, and welcome to the SF world!

Good tutorial! I tried picking up cammy though and its really hard starting with her. It seems that you have to always be 2 steps ahead of you enemy at all times. I instead picked Rufus and he had a better divekick,good damage off a confirm and a million ways to hit his ultra. With Rufus I feel confident fighting almost any other fighter. This is from a beginners perspective though. I am wondering AE cammys why do you still play her or Some tips?

@jerphunter cause we like playing her. simple as that. if you wanna play cammy you need to have dedication, even the cammy's kinda 1 dimensional, she is not easy mode. to be consistently good with her she requires near flawless play every single match, and youre not gonna get there in the first couple weeks, hell even in the first couple months.
