Sorry to all you folks about taking offense to Labrador not being in this song,but it was written by the composer as his birthplace,which was Nfld,not Labrador. In my day Labrador was not a part of Nfld. So my home was Nfld If you folks cannot see the pride as being a part of Nfld,then write music for Labrador,I don't see too many.

No offense intended. I left Nfld for work years ago as you probably left Nfld for your reasons,but many I am sure have happy memories of the Island as truly home.

My grandparents were from Bauline and left St. Johns for New York in the 1920s. Luckily I grew up in the country upstate, so I never was a city boy. I always new where my mother's family was from, and there were other families from there as well that my grandparents knew, but I never really knew much about the place. The more I discover the more I seem to understand things about myself, like my love of the traditional music and my sense of humor. Hopefully, next year will be the big pilgrimage.
