try a bar chord 5 and 7 for the D chord in the chorus..easier, also when you start the silent steeples part try a major bar chord for the G you play on 3 and 5 then slide to 2 and 4 to end steeples, makes it easier to sing, also it the correct way to play the chords...nice cover tho.. great song keep it up

its a D/F# , basically just put your thumb on the sixth string second fret. Hope this helps ya

also kinda hard to do the solo alone, the song loses all its shape when you lose your rhythm guitar, that why playing alone you rarely play a solo
