  • hey!! i have an portable tv too!! it runs with AA batteries and the speaker sounds kinda funny due it's kinda old

  • HOW THE FUCK IS THAT THING WORKING!?!!?!??!?!

  • Dude it will work or does work my friend has one of those and it does work on digital. And I have an external antenna adapter.

  • I have a portable TV like yours, but it's black and white. It's also a little bit bigger, it's also a radio though. It's a White Westinghouse.

  • I'm gonna shove that anterer up someones ass :D

  • When was this portable tv made? Early 90s maybe?

  • Where can i get one of those im in aus and in 2013 while away digital tv can i get one it Australia

  • STUPID GOVERMENT I WAS GONA DO A REVEW ON ONE BUT NOW IT WILL JUST BE QQQQQQQQQSSSQSSSS

  • these still work in the us lptv still broadcast local stations are available

  • RadioShack now has a 3.5" Auvio pocket digital TV for around $100, but it's a horizontal form factor (control buttons are to the side of the screen instead of below), so it's not very ergonomic to hold. It's also got the wimpiest little antenna ever, not just in size but also fragility (simply looking at it will probably break it). It does run off regular AA batteries though, so at least that's one advantage it has over larger portable digital TVs with non-replaceable rechargeable batteries.

  • @bigloudnoise im in canada i have like 9 months left till dtv

  • I had this TV. When a storm came through I was able to use this Tv for the 8 hours the power was out. It was not one constantly but I had it on at least 3 hours it did not have to replace the batteries. It was a great TV and I bought it for only $50 back in 2007. This was before I knew about digital transition. Just a few months later I heard a rumour about Digital TV. BYy 2008 it was no longer a rumour.

  • @TheGameingGuy That was on the portable tv hes using

  • @TheGameingGuy That was on the portable tv hes using

  • DONT TELL ME BAM BAM BAM OHHHHA

  • I Had one of theese, dont know where it is now though.

  • holy crap! i instantly recognized what show was on when you first turned on the tv. it was the very end of the episode of King of Queens where Doug shoots himself with a staple gun in the balls.

  • These are cool...I have the second generation Sony Watchman, which actually has a miniaturized B&W CRT in it, because LCD wasn't quite to screen quality when it was made. They are still useful, they can pick up stuff on what used to be the VHF/UHF bands...they've been repurposed for things like wireless security cams, which are at the very top of UHF.

  • They still work in europe, allthough you can only get a few channels..

These will be so handy in a zombie outbreak. xD

  • @kennytheamazing When all the people who run TV stations are zombies.

  • Comment removed

  • I have something just like that in every way, except is says Casio instead of Radio Shack.

  • is he 20 they say he doesnt even look like hes 20

  • @xMetalHeadx1 leave him alone..

  • With a hack it can be used as an oscilloscope

  • we do have flo tv nowadays so in a sense it won't die but the shitty part is u have to have service for it i may be wrong but i think u have to pay for each chanel

  • awesome!

  • i have one of those

  • Aw! 2:00 Why'd you turn King of Queens off? I love that show!

  • i remember i got 1 of these from spain in 1999(i think)

we managed to haggle the price down to about £40 at the current exchange rate

  • iPod touch FTW :{D

  • If they built the digital tuner into the unit it would work.

  • Portable TVs become useless because of digital TV

  • Its a Radioshack Knock off of a Casio Tri -Sta

  • oh I remember those things! bat reseption tho

  • work? yeah i have work im 13 i fix and make computers (major geek not the steriotypical kind) but what kind of work has a handheld tv in somekind of room

  • If you go to Africa then yes!

  • Mine looks just like that and it still works!

  • 3:38 lol

  • if there gonna f up analog atleast make tvs like this in digital you now handheld incase your life on the round

  • i hate digital tv. we had to buy a converter thingie or whatever they call it for 100-500 euros (100 euros is 150 dollars) and we cannot use those.

well, i got one (digibox i shall call them) with harddrive so i can record for 400 euros! life sucks, you cant watch tv with only tv nowadays.

  • now 100 euros would be 227 bucks yeah life sucks

  • i still got a similar one but it a b&w one, you can still get signal or put the adaptor in for a wired signal.

it takes the piss though it takes 10 c batteries

  • I wonder if they'll make a digital version nah we got laptops and need something smaller NETBOOK or smartphone

  • it was funny when you were watching it like a real tv

  • 2:00 king of queens

  • Casio made TV sets like this, I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is a rebadged Casio unit, where was the set made? I believe a few of my friends made have had one of these.

  • Tandy Australia had HEAPS of these things in their catalogues in the 90's, pocket sized TV's like yours, portable black and white TV's with AM/FM radios in them and some that even had a cassette recorder in them, crazy idea you don't see now. There was one set they had which was a CRT type TV with detachable stereo speakers and a double cassette tape deck, this was in around 1992, I never owned one, I was only 18 years old back then.

  • I almost bought this TV back in 1988 but I found the screen to be too blurry, so I ended up getting the black and white Sony Watchman. I was in Jr. High at the time and still had a bed time...so these things were awesome for sneaking under the covers and watching all the late night TV shows when I was supposed to be sleeping! I also used it on long car trips as well. I brought it to school once and my teachers were NOT pleased! Almost got it taken away forever!

  • how old is this kid, i mean, sounds 11 but idk

  • He's 20.

  • You only put it on vhf try the other please and post it.

  • oooooooh a portable tv i wonder how different it could be from normal old tv let me guess NOT A DAMN THING

  • Due to that Darned Digital switch all of those old things are rendered useless now :(

  • I could have sworn I saw that 70's show at one point...well I'm obsessed with that show so anything's possibe I guess.

  • what radioshack grants pass

  • I bet you aren't picking up shit with that TV anymore, hehe.

  • DUDE! where did you get that TELL ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He already said at the beginning. He found it at the Radioshack he works at.

  • RADIOSHACK!!! He said it when he started.... @_@

  • 2:44 I saw that (the color)

  • It's like watching tv on a game boy!

  • they make digital tvs that don't need the converter box so if they somehow make that kind of tvs portable we might see portable tvs again.....

  • man that stinks it dosent work anymore cause the dum digital upgrade

  • and in a few minutes, you can make a converter box portable and handy without the coax cable

  • what do you mean "time machine" I still use mine as my main tv!! plugged a cable box in, works great! 70 channels!

  • thats his retro series

    like he reviews old stuff

  • Jeopardy! FTW

  • i found one at goodwill that took 9 d batteries

  • Sucks that it dont work anymore...i just inherited a newer model (Its radioshack, marketed under the name cinevision) and im gonna get some Coax to 3.5 mm adapters and make it run again!

  • mined an 85 goldstar 5' bw crt. actually realy crisp picture

  • its good this crap doesnt work anymore :)

    CABLE FTW

  • you are in your attic right?

  • I have one of those except its a crt and its a monster! It runs on about 9 D batteries!! Just imagine how 'portable' that is xD

  • I have a LCD Radio Shack analog TV as well as long 80's style tv. Obsolete (at least for me) now.

  • Well mine was my sisters (i think) cause i wasn't born yet when she got it. im 12 shes 29 xD

  • I have one too!

  • 3:38

I love this show... i think.

  • that was hilarious hahaha

  • great video!

  • I have a really old portavision one of those radio shack 5" ones. I still use it in my bathroom.

  • I had a portable TV adapter for my GBA it even had AV ports to plug in like a console or DVD player. Cool concept I guess but not very practical. I only used it once and ended up selling it.

  • you dont have to a genious to rig up the new converter boxes to run from AC. say you out camping or somthing and you are dead bored. check out this video to see how to make the converter box portable.

    watch?v=lVKm45r0uUY&playnext=10&playnext_from=QL

  • the only difference between analog and digital is the encoding, why not just have one of those with the digital encoding on it?heck someone could probably build it using one of those converter boxes

  • trun to digital cabol

  • Disregard my last comment.

  • If it's an analog TV than in February it'll be toast

  • haha, oh i love this show...i think

    lol classic

  • i remember that thing its broken though and lost :(

  • They should try to make a portable digital TV or a portable HD TV

  • I think they're starting to make prototypes in japan. (of course, where else, right?)

  • i got the same one.

  • or have your own transmissonswith some $30.00 tv transmitter off the internet

  • i mean i my origin (sweden) we don´t have analog tv :P

  • yeah jippie. I have an analog tv phone but in my origin(sweden) :P

  • ill buy it from you if you ever want to get rid of it

  • or you know they could make portable tv with digital antennas

  • The only good thing I've ever gotten out of a portable TV was an episode of the Simpsons, and that's about it. the rest was always fuzzy and blurred.

  • These are notorious for having terrible connection in industrial zones, I know, its true! I used one alot at my stepdads workplace.

  • I wanted one soooo bad when I was little.

  • lmao
