i ride bike and I think this is very good awareness but to be honest in the first part the bike was going way to fast when it hit the car and in the second shot the bike was going on a normal speed..
these sort of accidents only happen when the biker puts its guards down..

I saw this commercial years ago when I was a kid. I remember after seeing it, I started to take mental note as to how many drivers might hit me on my pedal bicycle had I not of taken notice to their car and slowed down. And I've nearly been a bunch of times, had to skid sideways to a stop to lightly slam into a truck to stop, and was right beside my friend when a lady accelerated right into him because she didn't look.
Now I always scan left and right as many times as I can when I drive.

If for no good reason a driver causes another other driver to slow down or stop OR speed up and go around OR Bail then that driver is a dick and shouldnt be allowed on the road.

Speak for yourself. The telephone was Italian, the electric drill was certainly Australian, the black box was German and the scramjet was first built and tested in Australia (though the engine was an Anglo-American effort).

Just Google "Australian Inventions" and it's quite clear that the notepad, diff, electric drill, ute, black box, electronic pacemaker, along with refrigeration as well as the Hyshot Scramjet engine were indeed Australian.
And the "telephane" is not a "telephone". The telephane was much like a precursor to the television, so Australians can also be thanked for helping along home entertainment.
Perhaps you should consider doing research before making a fool of yourself.

Jeez people, this happens for real everyday and way too often!! It is not about whether the bike was there in the first shot, the point is that you may not see him if you do not look thoroughly. Be aware when you drive!! No more "I didn't see him" b.s. excuses. Cars do not own the road, and it is not the biker's duty to stop for you, or to swerve around in order to avoid you! If you pull out directly in front of a moving vehicle, no matter what it is, it can be your fault for not looking!

The reason I couldn't see the bike was because his head was in the way... it was NOT there in the first shot. Also, the bike would have hit him anyway whether he'd pulled out further or not... maybe the biker was riding with his eyes closed??

this commercial defends the biker too much. all points unbiased, i believe the driver should have to look the 3 times (here, there, and here again). But what the hell's that biker doing going that fast in the middle of the day in that busy of an intersection to begin with. too bad all commercials are gonna be 2 sided to try and make you do exactly what it is theyre advertising.

Point is that this can hapen and it DOES. And sometimes the bike apperas to come out of nowere. Plus, the cameraangel is different in the first part so the driver blocks our view ;)
