In Cave Story, you have a large selection of weaponry throughout the game. Many people choose the Polar Star which can later become the Spur. I chose the Machine Gun which has a special feature of propelling you upward if you shoot under you.

With the machine Gun, I am a Rocket Man.

@uncaringbear the game is not much harder than some nes games, it has some "hard" stuff but nothing from outside this world. Also you can get up to 50 HP and in the end enemies does 5-10 damage.

@rS17 I used the machine gun throughout the entire game and it was WAY better than any other weapon in my opinion because once you get the maximum ammo regeneration rate, you can literally fly non-stop, your ammo refills so fast that you only have to stop floating for like half a second and u got your ammo back lol.

I just played the demo of this in the wiishop and thought it was awesome!

The characters are unique, the story seems tantalizing, the music is catchy and the gameplay is simple and fun. Love the upgrades and weapons too.

Are there any differences to the freeware game and the wiishop version?

Yeah, the Wii version has remade character graphics that are arguably worse. Also the music in the Wii version is glitchy and messed up.

@Denver1928 From what I've experienced from the people who message me referring to the extended versions of the original OSTI I uploaded, about the Wii version of the music, the songs don't loop correctly and there's a glitch in certain songs where the drums won't play. I've experienced it in game as well. Since there are many complaints about these issues and since I experienced it myself, it can't exactly be in our minds. Not saying it's not fine for you, but that's just my 2c on the subject.
