It is an FPS game with more realism. Problem is that people play this game having come from games like COD and don't like it. That is beccuse CoD is an arcade FPS.
Bad Company 2 can be a fast pase battlefield FPS with destructive environment and vehicles requirement more 3-Dimensional thinking than CoD.
OFP is a more realistic game going from long range open ground to urban warfare with a focus on realism and tactical thinking rather than just shoot or blow everything up.

OK this game is good and the best tactical game you can get but there was some problems, like when reloading the guy does not go prone and would just get killed or he took far to much time to go prone sometimes, weapon changing is also a bit too slow! But game is good nice game

in the real world, the unit to get shot at first is usually either the support unit a.k.a. the man with the SAW, or the radio man since they pose the greatest threat.
This was a good game in some respects, but I really wish some people would start taking in elements that would be true i.e. camouflage, foliage movement, and the fact that if you're behind a wall, I can guarantee you that the enemy won't know your exact position lest they have an aerial drone above you. And one thing that I think will make FPS games great is if they draw on the element of Aggro based like Army of 2 because...
The problem with this game is that while the commands etc are very realistic, it draws away from the 1st person element of the game. You feel like you are moving chess pieces on a chess board and occasionally shooting a distant blob - which can also take you out without you having a chance in hell. The field of view, pace of the game, and agility of your soldier all just make this game feel a bit stale. Once this game has a more in-depth feel and a more intuitive command system, it will be great
@Rafterman123 I got this game despite all the negative reviews. While the game is far from perfect, I really like some elements of the game that other "realistic" FPS lack. One of those things happens to be the realistic engagement range. Enemies engage you from 100's of meters away instead of running right up to your face. You complained about shooting a distant blob. To me that makes the game all the more real. Makes me wonder if some of you guys have ever served in the military.
@77rxpharmacy No, I absolutely agree with u but the point I was trying to make is that shooting at a distant blob is about as good as the fighting in this game gets. There is none of the highly spontaneous and intuitive combat that would happen in real life. And the range of engagement is fine but there is definitely a super-human element to the AI. One which becomes obvious if you do have military experience - Getting spotted 700m away, at night, through trees, behind a rock and getting killed
@198cvx Onlines is pretty much dead only a few still play it, it lags like hell it's so buggy it's almost comical (invisible weapons no sound on snipers hit registration is broken) in short, don't get this for multi-player
If you have a console my answer would be, dont get it. If you have a PC, get it. There are plenty of use made/campaigns missions that are better than the main one and the DLC is free. I had it for xbox 360 and sold it, then i got it for PC and it was like a different game

Love the game its so realistic and the graphics and the quality of the sound is just amazing it makes you feel like your videotaping an actual soldier or something....while it does have its glitches, like sometimes the AI acts broken for enemies and teammates I'll admit and there could've been a few more weapons and vehicles this game is just so much fun for people looking for a intense combat simulation experience.

Graphics are rubbish 2d textures so its not like videotapping an actual soilder.

this game was a joke. they make it look good, but they don't show all of it's flaws... Like the dumbest AI I've seen in a long time, terrible animations, enemy's have X-Ray/thermal vision, broken multiplayer (no matter how good your internet is) no mission editor for consoles, like 4 weapons, teammates never listen to your commands... etc.

@nigeyaloo Mw1 was incredible. Mw2 was, in the words of another gamer, one step forward, 10 steps back. The amount of glitches and unbalanced gameplay elements, even simple stuff like idle sway and recoil, were completely ruined. Killing people was way too easy, and it made dying quick and almost unavoidable at times. It was a a flawed game that should've been great.

Ok so I just got this game and I like it but there is one thing i don't understand...On the xbox 360 you hold the RB to select the radial menu; while you hold the RB you can a thumbstick so select plater 1,2,3 and 4 and highlight it yellow like number 1 in the video...Why can u select them? I mean they seem to be obeying his commands while they are not selected?
I have a love/hate relationship with this game. The stealth pisses me off sometimes but once you understand the dynamics of this game its really quite a breaze.
@blingblabo The game was fun, but almost everytime I reload the animation cuts off, the multiplayer still isn't accessible to me. (my Internet is fine) And you have to admit that the AI sucks.
@chadheck96 the ai for me kinda is not really bad and the multi works fine to me and the cut scenes if spelt correct anyway not got any bugs on mine :) if you have windows 7 then thats probs why lol

@ICACOCHI It is a good game, there are not that many bugs. The online has no bugs if all the players have good connections. This is a really fun and challenging game to play with your friends on hardcore mode, which is what i always play.

It sucks they don't have fighter jets or a-c130's or the level editor those are the main reasons i wanted this game but i can't get arma 2 since it will cost me $2,000 to get a computer and modify it to be able to run it since i don't even think they make computers that can run arma 2.

Yeah, I am thinking about buy a PS3 just for MAG, there is a "Fog of War" element to the game, it takes the soldiers experience to guide him to victory and keep his men alive.

Love the game its so realistic and the graphics and the quality of the sound is just amazing it makes you feel like your videotaping an actual soldier or something....while it does have its glitches, like sometimes the AI acts broken for enemies and teammates I'll admit and there could've been a few more weapons and vehicles this game is just so much fun for people looking for a intense combat simulation experience.

@GTAWISCONSINreturns2 It's far from realistic AI is rubbish your squad don't follow your orders and the enemy sometimes fails to react to you. The sound quality is rubbish His voice is so monotone. Its not an intense simulator becuase you have to shoot the enemy about 6 times to kill them and when you do shoot them there blood squirts up in the air. its not fun the missons are repetitive without any variation. Graphics are rubbish 2d textures so its not like videotapping an actual soilder.

It was still fun and more realistic then games like CoD, and Battlefield etc. Just saying I thought it was a nice change of pace.......While I love CoD and Battlefield as much as this just saying for someone looking for something different, this would probably be a good game to get considering its dirk cheap now just about now....

this game was a joke. they make it look good, but they don't show all of it's flaws... Like the dumbest AI I've seen in a long time, terrible animations, enemy's have X-Ray/thermal vision, broken multiplayer (no matter how good your internet is) no mission editor for consoles, like 4 weapons, teammates never listen to your commands... etc.

Meh, I don't like this game too much. MW and MW2, no matter what all the "highly-intelligent-shooter-players" say, were pretty good games. Unrealistic as shit, but beautiful non-the-less. I've just started playing this, and I'm bored.

@nigeyaloo Mw1 was incredible. Mw2 was, in the words of another gamer, one step forward, 10 steps back. The amount of glitches and unbalanced gameplay elements, even simple stuff like idle sway and recoil, were completely ruined. Killing people was way too easy, and it made dying quick and almost unavoidable at times. It was a a flawed game that should've been great.

Ive been waiting for this game since the 1st one came out, am so dissapointed, they said it would be the same setup as the original,infact they said it would be just like the original except new engine and cool graphics, only thing they got right were the graphics :( . The unnoficial sequel arma and arma 2 seem to be the same as flashpoint, but new engine and better graphics,

@ps3anialator maybe you just suck...if you watched the previous video, he said this game is NOT a run n gun game. This is supposed to be realistic which means: Less hits to die, no regeneration, etc. I take it you play COD which means that any other game besides that sucks...if its not COD that you play its probably halo. Both are unrealistic as shit and i give the developers of this game props for such a realistic experience.

Ok so I just got this game and I like it but there is one thing i don't understand...On the xbox 360 you hold the RB to select the radial menu; while you hold the RB you can a thumbstick so select plater 1,2,3 and 4 and highlight it yellow like number 1 in the video...Why can u select them? I mean they seem to be obeying his commands while they are not selected?

@blingblabo Well my comp can run ArmA II on med-high so it aint all that bad... Never said nothing about cutscenes, yes I do realise there are patches, and they dont address even half the issues, one person saying it works against a few thousand saying it dosen't wont add up to shit.

Imagine operation flashpoint dragon rising big opened maps with the vehicles, mag missions and massive player ability with weapon customization, then to top it off with BC2 kick ass graphics with the kick ass destructive abilitys.... what would you guys think of that game, i think it would kick every game ass on earth >:D

@ICACOCHI It is a good game, there are not that many bugs. The online has no bugs if all the players have good connections. This is a really fun and challenging game to play with your friends on hardcore mode, which is what i always play.

wow this is absolutely brilliant I play it all the time at the weekends with my mum she is really good at it. I was lucky and downloaded the game utterly free for my ps3 from; 115 games. c o m they have thousands I couldnt beleive that they are all free oh i almost forgot 2:12 to 2:42 was first class

It sucks they don't have fighter jets or a-c130's or the level editor those are the main reasons i wanted this game but i can't get arma 2 since it will cost me $2,000 to get a computer and modify it to be able to run it since i don't even think they make computers that can run arma 2.

this game seems pretty real.... i like it
i personly think that this game and MAG is 2 of the best modern warfare games.... i mean c'mon who wants 2 be stuck in a box map all day on multiplayer, mag and this game has a really big open would 2 explore and what not plus on MAG there's a totle of 250 players in one multiplayer game... now thats what i call a all out war game... and on top of all that there's so many places 2 hide and b a sniper
now thats real life kick ass right there!!!!

Yeah, I am thinking about buy a PS3 just for MAG, there is a "Fog of War" element to the game, it takes the soldiers experience to guide him to victory and keep his men alive.
