In Sweden we have "free" abortion (we have to pay a small fee, at about... 10-20 dollars), and the teenage pregnancy rate is low, we teach children at a young age about sex and how to protect yourself from pregnancy (around 10-12). Thanks to that, not as many young people get pregnany, resulting in less abortions. Try to stop the baby from being made, instead of forcing young children to be mothers and fathers. Celibacy doesn't work, teach them about contraception instead!!

I have no problem with abortion if it is for the health concern for the mother, rape, incest or if the female is below the age of consent. However, I do not want to see a government paid option for abortion on demand as a form of birth control for people who have no control over themselves.
Why should abortion in the case of incest be okay? The only difference between rape and incest is that the resultant baby will likely be born retarded or deformed. So, so say you are pro-abortion for rape AND incest is to say that a rape victim shouldn't have to suffer anymore (not that abortion makes her un-raped), and, in the incest case, that a deformed/retarded baby doesn't deserve to live. My biggest concern is that the democrats are trying to make abortion a state supported way of birth control.

Abortions only make up a small percentage of PP, the rest is trying to educate kids about the dangers of sex, birth control, adoption services, or preparing to be parents. It's not ALL baby killing propaganda, it's paranoia that causes people to believe that. Without organizations like PP, parents will still be too afraid to talk to their kids about sex, and kids will have sex, and dangers start there.

In Sweden we have "free" abortion (we have to pay a small fee, at about... 10-20 dollars), and the teenage pregnancy rate is low, we teach children at a young age about sex and how to protect yourself from pregnancy (around 10-12). Thanks to that, not as many young people get pregnany, resulting in less abortions. Try to stop the baby from being made, instead of forcing young children to be mothers and fathers. Celibacy doesn't work, teach them about contraception instead!!

Are you against contraception? Because it's mostly that I'm trying to get at. Learn children BEFORE they're teenagers about it. It's too late to teach them when they start high school. They have sex before it.
And, I think abortion is a human right, because how it affects the mother. Call me callous, but I don't think a "baby" (barely a fetus) can feel any pain. Abortion is NOT murder. I'm sorry, but this is why most of the world thinks some Americans are... stupid.

I was born because my parents already had three kids, one which was born before abortion was legalised in Sweden. They knew they could take care of a kid, and they were 40+. I wouldn't have been born if I had Down's, I know that. And I'm ok with that. I understand them.
What I'm saying is that people unable to care for a child shouldn't have to. I'd rather a child not be born than be raised in poverty or by unfit parents.

My school went to a health clinic, where they taught us how to use a condom, a bit about contraception and how to stay healthy. something that people ALL ages needs to know.

The thing is... a baby is not even aware of its own existance until a while after it is born, which makes me doubt that a fetus before the 12th week really can register pain (and some time after it). Before week 6, it's not even considered a fetus.

I have no problem with abortion if it is for the health concern for the mother, rape, incest or if the female is below the age of consent. However, I do not want to see a government paid option for abortion on demand as a form of birth control for people who have no control over themselves.

Why should abortion in the case of incest be okay? The only difference between rape and incest is that the resultant baby will likely be born retarded or deformed. So, so say you are pro-abortion for rape AND incest is to say that a rape victim shouldn't have to suffer anymore (not that abortion makes her un-raped), and, in the incest case, that a deformed/retarded baby doesn't deserve to live. You're specifically referring to deformed/retarded babies when you refer to abortion for incest.

I was making this concession based on the woman instead of the child. This is not a easy decision for anyone. I just don't think a woman should be forced to carry a child that is a result of rape or incest. Unless of course she decides to. In many countries it's legal to have sex before 18. And yeah, a lot of people have sex before that, and before they get married (and what if you don't get married?). It doesn't make them sluts. I do not like the word slut because it points to out-dated values that shouldn't exist in the society we have today.
