Thanks for your thoughts, & I will think about them. Your point that capitalism has never led to genocide is interesting. I do support capitalism & free enterprise, but without some reasonable regulation, you get child labor in coal mines, sweatshops, the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire, etc. Also, capitalism can morph into imperialism, which led to disasters like the Vietnam War, which was a massive slaughter of Asians, though not genocide.
I'm wondering how a video simply showing an air berlin plane comes off the runway can turn into a discussion about extremism , racism , nationalism and nazism ? If someone has a good explanation .....
The answer to your question: Lots of people who watch YouTube videos don't like Germany, & they jump at the chance to villify Germany whenever any negative event occurs there. Then, defenders of Germany jump in & argue with them, and this easily leads to discussions about history, philosophy, etc. In the USA, this is known as free speech. Some folks will never forgive Germany for WW1 & WW2, even though the causes were complex & multilateral.
mate i am british and live in germany its actually the nicest country ive ever been to fair enough they lost the wars to us but who gives a fuk they are a cool country so dont back chat a country youve never been to
and if u gonna reply dont say oh ye ive been to germany coz i dont quite giv a fuk
You need to drink less alcohol or get off drugs. Read my commentary again. I have defended Germany against unfair, blanket criticism for 35 years. And, yes, I have been to Germany and was impressed by the folks I met. Perhaps you were responding to someone else but clicked on my name in error. Or, you do not understand collegiate-level writing.
idk why youre replying your comment to me i never said anything about boeing, i was talking about this guy talking shit to german ppl even tho his country is worst.
About german "contribution to science and culture".. that can't compensate or justify germanys barbarity and other countries like England and France contributed no less than germany.
Doesn't matter when but it hapened and my grand grang father died fighting against germans.
"Germany-hating was ONE factor in a host of factors that led to World War II"
You know that this is not true
In contrast germany hating everyone was the main factor that led to World War II.
About USA and nuking japanese cities. First of all it's not USA but japanese asslailed USA secondly it migh have costed even more lifes of both sides if USA would have invaded japany instead of nuking.
You are watching to much american movies!!!! Germany is a Great country, with a great people!!! And we don't have to be scared because terrorist attack . You just can be american!!!
Your statement is either a joke, a provocation, or an indication of complete liberal brain programming & standard Germany-hating. World War II happened 65 years ago---Get over it! By the way, Germany-hating was ONE factor in a host of factors that led to World War II. Also, the USA is the only country that has destroyed undefended large cities with nuclear weapons. Does that mean that America does not care about human life?
@bboucharde They were "undefended" because the Japanese defenses believed the lone B-29 was only on a recon' mission. Japanese actually left bomb shelters and were completely exposed upon detonation of each bomb.
Let us not forget we were the first country in history to help re-build the same country that we helped defeat and bomb into oblivion.
I believe you already know this but perhaps others do not.
Page 2: German scientists & researchers have made massive, life-saving contributions to chemistry, medicine, biology, engineering, public health, & every other field. In culture, they have dominated classical music for three centuries. Then, look at film, sculpture, painting, philosophy, architecture, literature--German contributions have been disproportionately large. History, people, & cultures are much more complex than your dim little bulb could ever illuminate.
Germany's "great" contributions to philosophy were the cause of their total societal failure, and a factor in the failure of much of the world. See; Hegel, Marx, and Kant and their influence. Kant having had the most twisted mind in the history of man. Their philosophic influences have given rise to the most barbaric societies man has ever seen. See; Third Reich, Maoist China, Soviet Union, and Khmer Rouge Cambodia
Thanks for your thoughts re: impact of German philosophy on history. You have walked into thick rhetorical woods when you claim that German philosophers are to blame for the most barbaric societies that humans have ever seen. Take Islam, for example: It has treated women barbarically for 1,300 years--a vast blot on its claim to credibility--Do you know that forced female genital mutilation is still practiced TODAY in Muslim countries across North Africa? See page 2.
Page 2: Barbarism? How about the genocide in Rwanda & Burundi, 25 years ago? How about the American & Spanish genocide against Native Americans, which inspired Hitler? He loved to read Zane Grey stories of the slaughter of native tribes. Are you going to blame American genocide on German philosophers? The French, British, Spanish, & Italians all have some very dark periods in their own pasts. Look at the Italian slaughter of Ethiopians in the 1930's. Plenty of guilt to go around!
My point only referred to German philosophers and your insinuation that their contributions were positive. I will admit that my statement should have been "some of" the most barbaric societies. The Rwanda-Burundi genocide was carried out by socialist (see Marx) Hutu rebels. American Indians were not slaughtered like the liberal revisionism would have you believe. Italian slaughter of Ethiopians? Mussolini's biggest influence was Nietzsche, and early on he was a devout Marxist.
I totally agree that WWII was 65 years ago and people should not bash modern Germans. Most of those responsible for Nazi Germany are dead or very old. However, extolling German philosophy which was the cause of most of the human suffering during the 20th century is counterproductive to your argument. The world should turn to the great philosophers such as Aristotle, Voltaire, Hobbes, and Locke, whose work while often flawed, leads us to capitalism. The only system never responsible for genocide.
what is this like the 10th or 12th plain that has crashed this year like i mean big plains not single engines that crash every day but still what the hell this all started with the Huston River crash in NY city
I don't know what the problem is? It seems like everytime it snows the whole aviation system of mainland Europe halts whereas in Scandinavia we keep our runways and planes running in minus 30 and snowstorm =)
you are lucky to live over those northern countries, they are civilized countries,I've seen some weird stuff regarding public services in Germany, the UK, and of course Italy and Spain
What has this accident to do with the weather? The pilot aborted take off because of technical problems. I'm curious how the heroic winter proofen Scandinavians handle their aircraft in this case. ;-)
the pilot aborted takeoff and done everything right but because of the winter conditions, resulted in skidding off the end of the runways threshold i went there as i live right next to the airport in walking distance and heard about it on the radio so decided to go there and see it.
This Airport is my home Airport

For one, Boeing planes are pretty fucked up: there's this crash, the one recently in Jamaica, the McDonnell Douglas crash in Madrid etc.
Except every major news outlet keeps kissing Boeing's *ss. All the money they're saving on manufacturing costs, they're surely spending on publicity.
