The "dump valve" sound is just as likely to be just the charger-recirculation pipe has been vented to outside, when you take your foot off the on-pedal, all the built up pressure normally goes back through the charger silently, but some like to take it off so it makes this noise mainly.... If its pre-pressureised air that been cooled on the way through I'd be keeping the "spare air" because it should be cooler, ie denser....

is the reg plate on this car begin with j340 by any chance?
