  • in this case it may have been bwtter for the stupid coustmer to browse the books. An 8 year old book that invidual book is probaly out if ciruclation.

  • So painfully true.

  • This is soooooo true!

  • "What do you suggest for someone like me who doesn't read?"

    "A movie."

  • "Are we having a staring contest?"

    "I don't think so."

"Then what are you waiting for?"

    Love that part ^^

  • @Laurie11able Its not an after school special, it's a smart form of comedy. Please stop taking things so seriously.

  • Wow finally something only a smart person can find funny. Lol. Keep them coming.

  • @Laurie11able Obviously you've never worked in a book store then.

  • Brilliant, 20 years bookselling and get questions like this every day...if only I could reply like the scetch!! One Day!

  • LOL I love the Harry Potter references and people not getting them.

  • Reminds me of a customer just like this who walked in and "remembered" a book "about a boy on a farm."

"It had a red cover," she said.

"Oh, sure!" I said. " 'As I Lay Dying'! William Faulkner!"

In all honesty, I don't remember whether the woman bought the book or not....

  • I work at Barnes and this is exactly what it is like. Thanks for making this, it's awesome.

  • I don't work at a bookstore but I can COMPLETELY relate to this. It's like any other day in customer service anywhere, the customers simultaneously expect you to be able to read their minds and magically produce whatever they want, but then diss you as being a stupid service employee when you can't meet their expectations.

  • This is perfect!!!!!

  • I didn't work at a bookstore but I can completely relate to this. I wish these customers just tried internet shopping.

  • LOL at this. So funny and so true.

  • We once informed a customer that his book was not in stock. His reply was, "You would think a damn book store would have EVERY BOOK." I almost choked on his stupidity.

  • @CTODfatigue I have a scenario like that in the next video I am going to post.

  • Booksellers unite! This is awesome! I'll never forget the day a customer got angry with me because I couldn't find a book for her. All she gave me to go on was that it was blue and had a duck on the cover. No title, no author, no subject. She didn't even know the genre.

  • This is the best! It's every customer I've ever had all rolled into one. The only thing missing is him asking if he can borrow a book.

  • Yes, customers, if I was a mindreader and could figure out what book you are talking about by the vaguest of vague descriptions....I wouldn't be working here!

  • "I could get Mr. Dumbledor for you"

    "Ok I'll wait right here"

    ...

    "I'm sorry, he died"

"Another employee, Mr. Snape killed him"

I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. Thank you. XD

  • This is so dead on. I loved it. It's all the things I always think, but can never say.

  • Thank you, job well done. You speak for all booksellers.

  • This is hillarious and spot-on accurate!

  • Thanks for all the positive feedback! I originally made this video for a friend of mine who is a fellow bookseller, and I hadn't checked it since I posted it. Glad to see other booksellers chiming in. I am going to make another one this weekend for all of you who enjoyed this one.

  • This is so true, only usually the customer responds with a bit more anger.

  • "Can I direct you to the exit door?" @journalist84, you are a fool!

  • "I'm sorry, I didn't know. Let me direct you to the quick-question line." LMFAO

  • This is what each of my days are like at the bookstore!! I agree with 'realedvardjr' below..Everyone should see this !!! Now not every customer is like this..but the ones that come in asking questions like this...I am saying these replies in my head!!

  • The sad part is that I've had this conversation so many times when I worked at B&N. The customer actually asking these asinine questions, and me replying like this in my head.

  • This is ingenious!

  • I want to do whatever is possible to make the entire civilized world see this little movie.

  • omg!!! that's frickin hilarious!!! lolol
