I used to go to this bar in Bangkok and give the DJ 20 baht to play this song, that was back in 1992. Everytime I hear this song I relive those great memories. This is music, not that crap we hear these days.
Wow, thanks for posting! I must say-- a great bunch of photos. Somehing tells me you put your pic among them. I bet you have remembered over 50 more men you could've included. Any thoughts on re-composing this and posting a longer version? (I'm thinking Elvis, Clint Eastwood, Bill Clinton and yes--even Michael Jackson!) This band was made up of 2 former Stray Cats "Slim Jim" Phantom, and Lee Rocker, added to Guitarist Earl Slick. Great album, even for today.
Missing people here, since you repeated. Kiss' Paul Stanley has shame?! Gene doesn't? Also, Eddie Murphy, both George Bush's who were president, and Kanye West...REALLY has NO SHAME!
@mdlovesart Hi...You can go to amazon.com and type in phantom, rocker and slick and it will bring up cd's that you can buy. A great place to find hard to find artists. Hope this helps!!!
for years ive had a 50 second clip of this song and been trying to get the artist name so thanks to some iphone app i played it and bamm i get the artist , name of song, and album tital its a great life in deed
How the hell does this happen? One of the best albums of the decade and it never gets put to CD! This is an outrage! Contact your local congressman! This album was a masterpiece. If you find this album in a used record store, do yourself a favor and buy it. You wont be sorry.
you can definitely tell the stray cats guitar licks. wasnt it slim jim phantom on the drums and the former guitarist for david bowie. whatever, the guitar and drums are truly legend
I've always loved this song. Glad to have found it again. The guitar "chug" that kicks in at 1:30 makes and carries this song. Smash mouth blues, f-ing love it.
the guitar chug marks the guitar style that became a trademark of the stray cats. it was actually the drummer slim jim phantom who was formerly of the stray cats but the influences in the guitar is far more stray cats than bowie
I have this whole album on a cassette, I made a digital copy to MiniDisc, thanks SONY! I think I'll upload some of it. The volume is LOW however, but I hope to recapture to MD a better master
fucking awesome song and would love to get a copy of it. Lucky I remembered the main song line or I wouldn't have found this. Thx so much for posting this Fucking classic
Great find in way of a song, you even have the long version. Showing a bunch of hollwoood actors and corp. rockers as being men without shame was a real reach
earl slick ,great in his day ...this was later in his sagging career...hooked up with slim jim phantom and lee rocker for 2 lps in the 80's the first of which this song is from ...and i believe the only single release
well, I would start by getting the original record where this song comes from: PHANTOM, ROCKER and SLICK. Do some research over the internet and ebay.
Hey, would anyone be so kind to recommend other stuff like this tune? The only thing I can think of is the Georgia Satellites. I want something edgier, however. Nothing angry, just a bit edgie--with a beat and southern sound similar to this.
Eric Sardinas, George Thorogood, Stray Cats when they REALLY chose to rock out, Dash Rip Rock, Jerry Reed, Jerry Lee Lewis, Hank III & the Damn Band, Reverend Horton Heat.
Thanks for posting this song in it's original form unlike the half-assed cheesy post from backporchvideos which had 2 faggety goof-balls with jacked up hair yapping at the beginning!
Now, what can we do to get them to re-release this awesome album!?
Way cool-a couple of months ago I tried in vain to find an audio clip of this song...couldn't find shidoda!! I used to jam this song back in the day-love the guitar work cool beat too...
Can this song be bought anywhere?
