Ancestors came from Germany, family living in the states since 1860's. I was always proud as hell of my German heritage ( 100%, so is my wife). Plan on getting back there someday, have relatives there. God bless Germany, the only country is waking up.

Correct me if I am wrong but how did the Germans have better equipment there tanks were always breaking down and were a pain to fix, the russians had the T-34 which was like the best tank in World war 2 and they had the PPSH 41 SMG that had a 71 round drum or a 30 or 32 round clip ( I forget ). Americans had the M1 Garand which was semi-automatic and had a 8 round clip. America also had the B.A.R. which was a good gun and the Thompson SMG which fires the .45 round.
@226dino There is a lot more to it than that, your trying to simplify something very complicated. While in a video game those things may matter, but in real life there were more variables. Germany had by far the best tanks of the war, the only thing that would out match them was intact some Russian armor, but even that was hit and miss. an 8.8 cm gun will wreck any tank, regardless of nationality. Germans had some of the best troops as well, well trained, well equipped, but none of this matters.
@Thatoneguy833 You should add that the german army had in an overwhelming numbers german soldiers, while they could have, theoretically, incorporated large numbers of soldiers of other nationality, thus countering to some extend the enemy's large "manpool".
@nyctasiaselesq They could have, and i think they may have tried to, but im not sure if occupied nation soldiers would have fought all that hard. I mean, polish and french soldiers fighting for there oppression? Too me that doesn't seem probable, but maybe.

Still, the hate against others, based on various reasons, or simply the personal gain, would have added to the german numbers. Only if such a propaganda campaign would have started as early as 1940.

@226dino Logistics, that is what lead to Germany's downfall. They could not produce more guns, tanks, and planes than the allies, they ran out of oil, and there best troops were all killed and captured and they were forced to use untrained, ill-equipped conscripts on many fronts. All of that combined is why they lost, they just couldn't keep up like Russian and American could (being big countries)
@226dino I guess all of that to say, equipment doesn't matter. Its about who can make more, and have the best people to USE said equipment. So long story short, on the small scale weapons and equipment difference matter, but on the broader more important scale, its all about logistics.

The Tiger tank= terror of the battlefield. I love this song and am starting to realize that Germany is the only real Ally America has in Europe. I wish they would say to hell with the EU and regain their sovereignty. the Panther A's bigest flaw was its turret's electric motor. it was too weak, so if the panther was on a slope and the turret needed to be aimed uphill the electric motor couldnt turn the turret :D

Germany now uses the Leopold Tank. Britain uses the modified Challenger MK2.
Back then the Panzer was a great feat of engineering but that was its down fall, costly and time consuming to build. Its funny how Russia had the T34 which was the biggest innovation in tank armour ever with its sloped design, also was faster than the Panzers but could make up in numbers what slightly lacked in fire power, it was easier and faster to produce. Simple design meant it was easy to repair and operate.

The point of studying history is to not only learn dates and events, but to attempt to answer questions that may have no real answer. Keep in mind that ALL nations contributed to the war in their own way, arguing over who contributed more is disrespectful. With the invasion of Normandy we forced Hitler to pull troops allocated for the EF and plug gaps in France etc. Without the manpower of the United States Military, and the stunning, sheer strength of our wartime industrial capacity, Britain would have fallen and then Europe, maybe even Russia (I doubt it) Lend Lease helped both countries as well.

Germany now uses the Leopold Tank. Britain uses the modified Challenger MK2.
Back then the Panzer was a great feat of engineering but that was its down fall, costly and time consuming to build. Its funny how Russia had the T34 which was the biggest innovation in tank armour ever with its sloped design, also was faster than the Panzers but could make up in numbers what slightly lacked in fire power, it was easier and faster to produce. Simple design meant it was easy to repair and operate.

The point of studying history is to not only learn dates and events, but to attempt to answer questions that may have no real answer. Keep in mind that ALL nations contributed to the war in their own way, arguing over who contributed more is disrespectful. A man who died may be deemed as "insignificant" because it has been decided that his country "did less". Keep it balanced (everybody).

The U.S. expected to have another atomic bomb ready for use in the third week of August, with three more in September and a further three in October. All of Germany was well within range of US B-29s which could easily operate from England and would have made Germany a very quiet neighborhood for centurys.

@conorcool61 Don't get so confident about the ability of a battleship to sink carriers. Its true that the Scharnhorst and Gneisenau sunk the Glorious. But one need only look to the Battle off Samar. Four battleships and other surface warships engaged a small force of escort carriers and destroyers. These carriers weren't even equipped for a fleet action yet they fought them off loosing only one carrier and 3 of the escorts for sinking 3 heavy cruisers. WWII, carrier beats battleship.

@clipmaster30001 You realize that if we hadn't entered the war when we did the Soviets wouldn't have made it to Berlin, atleast not for a couple years. With the invasion of Normandy we forced Hitler to pull troops allocated for the EF and plug gaps in France etc. Without the manpower of the United States Military, and the stunning, sheer strength of our wartime industrial capacity, Britain would have fallen and then Europe, maybe even Russia (I doubt it) Lend Lease helped both countries as well.

@EasySixXx every government has its good and bad side your saying the us government is perfect but that bullshit. yes the communist system isnt the best sometimes but you forget that all the eastern european countries were destoryed in ww2, soviet union helped rebuild them, and they continue to develop. and yes i know about communism because im come from a communist country dumbass i know what im talking about. America isnt the light of the world thats my point

Oh and the sovjets are not the only ones that helped rebuild europe, We had the Marshall Help in western europe, so get your facts together. By the way developed? In the 80's Western europe supply trucks had to go to Sovjet europe to give people food and supplies, don't say that's bullshit cz my dad was on a truck.

@EasySixXx i said perfect because it sounded like you ment usa is perfect. your saying without us Europe would be communist etc. so without soviet union Europe would be all American controlled same thing. and of course i know america did help rebuild western europe. let me tell you exactly what im trying to point out here. I am not russian, however i did come from a soviet country, the point is the US prides itself for winning WW2 and there is not credit to the soviets what so ever.

@clipmaster30001 The soviets have invaded europe as well as hitler. remeber every country they 'liberated' became communist. (and in fact those countries just were puppetcountries from the soviet union). no, in my opnion the soviets weren't liberators but disguished conquerers in fact. Don't remember Hitler's and Stalin's pact? do some research before you say the soviets were liberators ;) no offense :) oh yes btw Stalin killed in total more people than Hitler :) they are both 'evil'

@clipmaster30001 Look this is from wiki: blablabla, the treaty included a secret protocol dividing Northern and Eastern Europe into German and Soviet spheres of influence, anticipating potential "territorial and political rearrangements" of these countries. Thereafter, Germany and the Soviet Union invaded, on September 1 and 17 respectively, their respective sides of Poland, dividing the country between them. Part of eastern Finland was annexed by the Soviet Union after the Winter War.

@clipmaster30001 This was followed by Soviet annexations of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Bessarabia, Northern Bukovina and Hertza region. so far the soviet liberators :s and don't forget the annexations after the war.
