Nah I can understand how he sort of lost his accent, I remember one night me and my mate were at a pub and we met these couple English blokes and we were talking to them for ages and by the end of the night I was speaking exactly like them without even realizing it. I think we all just speak like the people we spend time with or at least the group of people we want to fit in with.
It's normal for Aussie players to talk like a Pom whilst they're up there. Remember, they spend most of their time in England. In essence, that is where they live. However, after a bit of time back down under you can hear them get their Aussie accents back. Kewell (when he was in England) and Schwarzer are exactly the same. Cahill is the only one that I haven't heard speak Pom come to think of it, although I'm sure he probably does.
Its got me fucked how hammers had Carlos Tevez at the front and Lucas Neill at the back and they still had to scrap to avoid relegation. Makes me think.
What a sad cunt talking like a pom, then comes back to Australia and talks like an aussie. In Australia no one uses the term "lads" to describe their mates. Fkn retarded
You do realise that half of the convicts were petty theifs trying to steal bread to feed themselves and their families because of the poor working conditions the industrial revolution brought to England? You're making them to out to be something they werent..
He still sounds Australian to me. Why is their so many negative comment about his accent? Lucas Neill is no proud to be an aussie and would never try to not sound australian and besides anyone who has lived in England for over 13 years is bound to loose their Australian accent a bit, and it doesn't help hes shouting.
Congratulations Lucas on the news your becoming a dad to twins.
What does Ireland have to do with England? Surely he'd sound Irish... and very different?
Though he does sound Irish "credit to the lads (:34)", and Australian "actually could get out of it(:39)" and English "they've had a very indifferent season(:44)". All in the space of ten seconds! Aswell as sounding just a bit like Tony Hawk at times, who is from San Diego... Which is funny because Noble actually looks like Tony Hawk quite a bit...
well it's very easy to lose the aussie accent and extremely hard to get it back. the trouble is u'll have to convince customs that ur not a pom or a yank haha
True that sometimes you can't help it, but he did say he felt more like 'one of the team' if he just went with it and sounded like them or something. Doesn't even seem like Lucas Neill. Wonder what best mate Cahill would say about it, he won't even let his kids have accents.
when you live in another country for an extended period of time...you lose your accent...then when u return to your country you get it back...i've had personal experience with that in America
when he came in january i knew he would be our best signing. £1.5 million was an absolute bargain from blackburn and he should definatly be captain next season as he is captain for his country and they did better than expected in the world cup
you see lucas go to uae play football 2011
