A great song, but pitifully rendered by the writer. The Byrds rendition is a thousand times better! Bob sure could write 'em, but he could rarely sing 'em! :-)
Dylan has been respected for 50 years, there is no lyricist that compares to him, no live performer that compares to him, no bootleg artist that compares to him, noone compares to him, he is unique, a one off, irreplaceable, someone to be cherished and listened to.
@adha4 A True part of American History and one of the biggest Tributes to America's Music..a very original artist that has not been duplicated or equaled since the 1960's.
@rickinnev - I agree, America's home grown genius in the music world - thank you America! He was influenced by all genres, Traditional, Folk, Old Sea Shanties, Gospel, Nursery Rhymes, Poetry, Blues, Rock, Biblical and a whole lot more, he created his own genre entirely.
This song is a reminder to Dylan historians that the two iconic women in Dylan's early career Rotolo and Baez were not the only women in his life. Could this Gypsy gal be Ramona as well?
@SeymourSycamore
You're wrong, one of the things he was known for was his voice. It's an acquired taste, obviously. I am personally a fan.

This may be my alltime favorite Bob Dylan song. Just a beauty, with good lovin' communication, and a cool guitar progression.
