Hey dude what are them there TVs doing there, you supposed to be watching TVs while ya flying.......think i'm gonna report you to THE MAN......that outta learn ya!
@parksbrew Wow those aren't TV's those are the Garmin G1000's. They are important for IFR landings, navigation, pitot instruments, horizon, VOR, plates, frequency grabbing, and replacing the steam gauge six pack. You can do anything but watch TV on them. Check your facts.

I'm a student pilot training on the DA42 Twin Stars right now, and the sound that you just heard is the autopilot sounding a warning tone, indicating that it's been disengaged. The pilot has to test the autopilot and its operation prior to takeoff, and one of those tests is looking for that tone when you purposely disengage it.
@Dominoes282 Haha yea I agree. As soon as you said it I was like ahhhh thats right lol Thats the problem with youtube though is that if you ask a question, you have to anticipate some wrong answers before you get the right one
@Dominoes282 I am going to have to disagree with you on that, your close but the way it works during the after start check list you turn on the pitot heat which also turns on the stall warning tab heat.(It has heat for that also since its approved for known icing conditions). If the FADEC determines that its warm enough that it doesn't need the stall warning heater it shuts it off on its own. That's the tone you year. Then if you don't need pitot heat you just turn it back off.
@goingtobeapilot After switching on the Aviionics Master switch, the autopilot takes a minute or so to "boot up." Within a minute or so, the autopilot makes that beep in the cockpit when it's ready for operational use. That is the sound you heard at 0:13.
is that N485AG? if it is.. really nice to see the bird I passed my CPL checkride in.... Awesome video!

@Marcoli5 Yea its a possibility but I'm 95% sure the twin star doesn't have a seat belt sign..... Usually GA aircraft don't.....

@goingtobeapilot sounds to me like a G1000 alert. probably turned off the Pilot heat after switching it on to check for a jump in amps
