I was here at this concert in '93 and alice in chains wwere also a for runner in there......it was in the old spot of the old jfk stadium and it was a hot day from what i remember of that day...it was fricking awesomer....lol Peter Van Name2011

I was there too. What I wouldn't give for a good vid of RATM standing there utterly buck naked and refusing to play as a censorship protest. That's a little bit of history we were there for.
i was at this show too. it was like 110 and there was no protection from the sun because we were in that big dirt pit. i spent arrested development's set in the med tent, but AIC, Primus and Dino Jr were amazing.
i too was at this fest. i can tell you for a fact that this fest was held on the site of the then recently demolished jfk stadium. it was a dust bowl, hot and dirty, muddy and awsome! i remember a smoothie stand selling lousy strawberry drinks for like 6.00 each. i have all my concert stubs from 1981 to 1998 in a large frame. i just looked at it and it clearly states "jfk stadium site" it also says "wherever you go... there you are" how hippie is that lol.
i was at the one in Charlotte. my first time seeing Primus. i was 11 years old and even then they were my favorite band. still are. since then, i never missed a Primus show in Charlotte.
Correct! I was here at this show and I own this on an old VHS tape. I got the tape at an indy record store in Philly two weeks after the show. It has a little bit of A.I.C. on it too but not their whole set.
I was at that show , I remember it being very hot that day and right during Alice In Chains, EMTs took out several people who collapsed from heat exhaustion
I am almost positive that lollapalooza was held on the site of the demolished JFK stadium.. it was just a big dusty, unpaved site. They were spraying water on the crowd due to the heat, and it became a big mud pit. We were muddy as hell. It was a kick-ass concert.
Lollapalooza 1993 in Philly was played in the park across the street from where the Wachovia Center is now. Which was also previosuly named CoreStates Center & First Union Center (aka FU Center). lol
nope,'94 was at that park. Smashing Pumpkins and the Beastie Boys played that year in Philly. This was on the site of the demolished JFK. The big dirt ball sucked but Primus and Alice In Chains were great that night.
"The 1993 Philadelphia stop for the Lollapalooza music festival was held at the JFK Stadium site on July 18, 1993. The site was an open field as construction had not yet begun on the then still tentatively named "Spectrum II" (Wells Fargo Center (Philadelphia))."
YES!!! I've been looking for footage of Lolla93 forever, this is so great. I hope to get this whole show now that I know it's existing. wasn't here but I was there in Buckeye Lake in Ohio which is a very woodstock-ish venue (no seats just grass and some gravel and it was just the perfect place for this. what an atmosphere. since i'll never again see or hear footage from that date THIS IS GREAT. I agree on the Chains
YES!! FINALLY some footage of lollapalooza 93! and its Primus! Thats awesome how Angelo comes in and does a solo. Wish I could see some footage of Fishbone form lolla 93.
something about his band kicks ass. The songs all suck, vocals blow, great drumming is it. claypools just pissses me off. he so talented that he just jerks off on stage and gets the last laugh. some have it most don't. This band primus has it
do you have footage from alice in chains from lolaapalooza 1993 ? :)

Yes, lalapalooza 3 was on the dirt lot before they completely removed jfk. Was hot as hell. This was the same show that RaTM did their PMRC protest.

oh... then it's not jfk stadium
thetaybackshow 4 years ago
There is no record of Primus playing the legendary j.f.k stadium in philly, This show happened somewhere else.
I think you should really change your video information.
True fans of the iconic j.f.k stadium know it was closed in 1989 and torn down in 1992.

@thetaybackshow I know, 2 year old comment, whatever.

@thetaybackshow I saw the Dead there in either 94 or 95. It was a two day show. We went the first day. On the second day some bleachers collapsed.

was that Norwood from Fishbone on sax?
Nightfall95 4 years ago
Angelo Moore, not Norwood! Norwood appears later in the show in the middle of Tweekers singing Fantastic Voyage by Lakeside.

@Nightfall95 Norwood plays BASS!
