Songs lyk this inspire you a lot. Really Shafqat's voice made the song more innocent. And hats off to you Salim and Sulaiman . You guys are great. Tears come out hearing this song but this is for the light of hope that you see infront of you.... saying "Dont give up bud ,you can make it.. u can"..
this singer has the most inspirational voice. this singer rocks dude. his voice is awesome.........and great music & lyrics too. all together 20 out of 10 for this song.
Nagesh Kukanoor is brilliant indeed...But it would be unfair to call DOR as his work because the stroy is a direct lift from the movie PERUMAZHAKAALAM (In malayalam) which released like 1-2 years before DOR
Dor is a direct lift from the Malayalam film Perumazhakaalam, agreed. Did the Malayalam film have a Rajasthani backdrop too? Nagesh Kukunoor does not deserve all credit but certainly deserves credit for picking a good film, and presenting it without losing the gist or the feel of the story....dont you think ?
@ QIRON yes of course..Kukunoor DESERVES credit for it. But my point was that there are many people WHO IGNORE/ DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE the fact that itz a lift from a southern movie. The enjoyed DOR and Perumazhakalam and this song is one of the most refreshing song which lifts u up. All the best 1 u and sry if my previous comment offended u ! all the best
NO NO my bro Ajit, nothing you wrote offended me. I was only making a point. I absolutely agree with you about the deserving people not getting credit for their work. In fact we are agreeing more than disagreeing :p
must add my two-pence worth here just to clear the air a bit. the initial story, a newspaper article, was picked up by the mallu film-makers, and by kukunoor, independently. the mallu film-makers were going to go ahead and make a film based on it. kukunoor found out that the rights had already been purchased by them, to make the film, and actually had to purchase the rights FROM THE MALLU GUYS. he wrote the screen-play in his own way..and Dor was what happened. so the mallu guys did get credit.
this song is really very inspiring, hi guys im new in youtube, n i need help, if anyone is interested in helping me how to add a video to youtube, then it would be really a very big favour. thnx
DAMN! watta voice! you guys here how he cuts the notes down into pieces? for example at 0:13-15, on the parts he says "yeh.." thats awesome! there are other spots as well :P wish i could that.
this ong really gives a chill to me...it damn nice...althought i cant understand the meanings but it really has a good sense of bonding...futher the movie is not left out...good job...hats off
With movies like Black, Dor and Jodha-Akbar and the sublime music of the latter two movies, Bollywoood has restored my faith that today's Bombay cinema can still produce stories and songs that will live for ever due to their clean, wholesome content and quality entertainment. A great salve to the soul, this song.
Mmmm... This song is not sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, it is sung by Ustad Shafaqat Amanat Ali Khan. The movie is as good as the song, well, maybe the song is better. This movie deals with lives of two different women and though I am a male, I was deeply touched by the movie. A MUST WATCH!
What a beautiful song with fantastic playback singer Rahat Fatheh Ali Khan Sahab and great picturization, a wonderful movie everyone must watch a movie very close to reality.
whos ronak and am cryin koz dis track reminds me of ma ex and hw i tried to put a smile on ma face just to shw him dat finishing wid him dint hurt me atall but i amost died... but hos ronak???
i agree wid u it does cum straight from heart and it also brings tears straight from ma eyes wid pain reflected straight from ma past. but ue still ryt so i agree wid ya x
Some of inspiration...when ever I listen to it I get extra energy this is power BOOSTER song...come what may I will never give up....i might have to walk alone for some time but I would make my own destiny, I want to be responsible for my own diction..
yes we do but unlike others do. we touch feet only to ask forgivness from elders like parents, grand parents, other relatives and ppl who one need to be seek pardon.
for respect we do touch feet but its very very rare in our country bcoz we think its a very high status one can deserve and it happens mostly in spirtiuall teaching where students/followers not only touch they even kiss feet of their teacher. i have seen it several times .
Oh My God, Shafqat Bhai u rocks, GR8
