At the time I was about 130lbs...which is actually a little big for the bike. Remember, this isn't exactly a typical 85. It had ALOT of work done to it, which is probably why shit was blowing all the time.

The 85 is a good bike, as long as you don't beat it too bad, and service it every 4 seconds...LOL. I would definately aim for a 4-stroke. They are alot faster than they used to be, alot easier on the ear AND weallet. Also, there is no mixing of gas involved. They are so much more reliable and can take quite a beating out in the trails.

if your an aussie boy like myself then there is no kx100 only a kx85 and kx85ll,(witch is the same hight as the 100) but if your american or whatever then you should go with the kx100 :)

85's require a shitload of maintenance. It's a motocross bike--they're souped up right from the factory.

It's not the 85. It's called 2 strokes or motocross. If your getting a first bike you should always get a 4 stroke becasue they wont kill you if you have little exp and their a shit load better to maintain. 2 strokes are pretty much 2 times the power of a 4 stroke but the cylinder and the way it works wares it down faster and if your a rider you could break a bike in a few races from the stress.

man ur bike is nice, i got an old 1985 yz80 and the powerband comes on instantly unlike ur bike wich kinda eases into. the worst part is it comes on right before redline and when u shift it hardly drops rpm

Yea...I love that...when your taking off and you're shifting like every two seconds, because the powerband is right there, so you're engine kind of sounds like it's running through the same gear over and over. You can really hear what I'm talking about if you go to my video called "KX85 Flying By".

On the "tracks" (If that's what you want to call them) around my house we just use good 'ol shovel and shoe...meaning we just dig a whole (which ends up as the gap and build the jump with the dirt we dig out of the hole. Then we shape it exactly how we want with the shovel and shoes...lol It's mostly trial and error...if you don't get enough air, add more of a lip or make it steeper. Just play around with it and have fun.

I'm probably going to go for a KX125...or a 4-stroke 250. I like 2-strokes because of their incredible power...but, to be honest..they are way to 'high-maintenance' for my liking. Four-strokes have a nice steady powerband, as apposed to a sudden thrust (like a two-stroke)
