I love Scafell Pike- it was hot when we climbed it and we watched a plane doing aerobatics- below us! I am CAMPING up there next month, should be great.
Me and my wife are planning to climb Scafell Pike - and this is the first video we've seen of it. We were a bit reticent, but having seen your video, we're going to do it next weekend. We'll take our old Sony camcorder and try to put our trip up on here.
Thanks for the inspiration, Whacka. Any Scafell/safety tips would be appreciated. We're new to fell walking, but we're not daft. ;o)
The climb ain't too bad at all, we did it on one the hottest days we've had this year in cumbria. Nice steady walk, just make sure you start before 9am so you can get back down before the sunsets!
Reminds me of my video efforts. My hillwalking stuff is all stills but my skating efforts (ice & inline) are on YouTube. Do y'all know Terry Morton or Lynn Pearson perchance..?
The spirit of comradeship in the face of adversity... all captured delicately in a breath taking visionary film. These two valiant adventurers, who strode forth into unknown hostile territory, convey the feeling of dread and fear at the start. This then eases away to reveal the sheer happiness, joy and amazement at what can be achieved by the human sole. Gentleman, I salute you!
Never in the history of human endeavour has two people's plight and struggle against mother nature, the elements and the sheer chance of death being captured so poignently. As I watched I found myself moved to tears over these two friends' struggle against what has commonly being called "Mount Doom". Never in the history of human pioneering has a piece of film so beautifully captured the brutality of exploration and bravery
whats the song?
