@kisscactus He's a good boy I can tell. I think the old car put him in a relaxed state, see him yawning afterwards? Was scary I thought that was me in the back seat, I looked just like him when I was a kid. Tell him to do his homework along with the football.
Very cool car I'm looking for any year Sixty Special now. Living in Florida so can drive it year round. Bob
In regards to the Caddy: No car is "really nice" until that car handles well with quick-ratio steering. Pull out the original steering box (saving the original pieces, of course) and install something that will allow the driver to avoid accidents. In the buggy’s current state, that could never be possible Further, get anti-roll bars that may allow that '53 beast to complete a fast lane change.
Understanding and correcting the shortcomings of past designers? Keeping a car factory-original is all well & goodv -- for a car that is museum bound. If one were going to (ever) take the Caddy on the road (read: into battle) the driver would be pragmatic in making certain the beast is ready for the fight. After an up-grade (that would be completely reversable) the car would still appear factory and also have real-world worthiness / readiness. Safety First.
HOLY SHIT that car really has a lot of space inside it(when I was typing this you put the camera outside the car I got freaked out,it sounded like a bomb)
The hood ornamanet is usually called the "flying goddess". 1952 was Cadillac's 50th anniversary, but the "V" is gold-annodized. '53 have always been my favorite--last year for that body-style, first year for 12-volt electric system, first year factory AC and first year for Dual Range Hydra-Matic with its 3.07 axle standard across the board--until the tragic Hydra-Matic plant fire in August of '53.
Bitchin car man I'd kill for that

Ouch. Don't say that! :p)

Does it have Hydra-Matic or Dynaflow? If Dynaflow, it will have a "Park" position.
