It's strange that The Simpsons are not what they used to be? I mean look at the movie. The Simpsons movie got positive claim from both fans and critics. Than there's the documentary, video games, comics that are released today. There's The Squirt and The Whale episode which was praised alot in season 21? I don't think it's the writers making The Simpsons old... I think it's scheduling hours and the new long intro because the episodes today feel shorter and some scenes feel like there deleted.

It's impossible to convey to somebody who didn't grow up in the 90's just what it was like. All of my class mates were fans of this show, as well as many of my teachers and camp counselors. In those olden, golden days, "The Simpsons" defied conventional T.V. It was smart, edgy, sharply satirical and downright hillarious. Somewhere around the 10th season it lost touch with what made it special. Although it was still good for a while, it became just another typical, contrived, formulaic sticom.

The simpsons has been there throughout all stages of my life. It reminds me of my childhood, and also the transition of my childhood to adolescence. I used to watch it with my brother when we were close...it reminds me of him. I love the simpsons, and I hope it never ends. Declining quality? Maybe. Doesn't matter.

I remember growing up in the 90's it seemed like you couldn't walk down the street with out hearing someone talk about how much they loved The Simpsons. All of my friends and class mates loved this show, as well as many of my teachers and camp counselors. It's gone through so many changes in the 21 years it's been on the air. In it's prime it was sharp, edgy, smart, politically incorrect and down right hillarious. These days, however, it's very watered down and kid friendly.

Although the show is declining and an end is inevitable, you've got to admit, out of hundreds of shows in television history, only a handful could stay alive for 20 years.

The Simpsons is one of the greatest shows in television history, and we'll solemnly but gladly watch this ship sink as the band plays their best till the very end.

There comes a time when a show start's to show its age and needs to know when to end. No show lives forever, and this show's been living for over 20 years.

It made an impact on popular culture alright, but that was when it first came out. Now, it's just a show that seemed to have lived a bit too long. It's no longer as funny and humorous as it was almost years ago, and I really don't want to see the show degrade into something extremely low by the time I get to college (which is in three years).

I'd give the show 3 more years. Even after it ends, we can always look back. I don't want to see it get run into the ground.

You will not find any show that has been on for more then a few years that continue to support itself in anything even a fraction of the way the simpsons does. Your entitled to your opinion, but it frankly I think the issue is more with you then the show. You maybe holding on a bit to your childhood by remembering what is widely considered the golden age of the simpsons.
