Finally a routine where the words "Now here's the remix" does justice. They are litterally remixing with the turntables, not that hard to misunderstand.
2003 is when real hip hop was officially declared dead. nas, pete rock, dmx, and big pun managed to push the rapgame after 2pac and biggie's for a couple of years. its also the hear when it got misrepresented to the new school wannabees and 2006 is when fake and commercialized hip hop took full control
@ks101794 you do understand that regular people do not possess this knowledge, so you sir are somewhat of a miserable twat, or can you not even entertain that thought due to your bigoted self-elevation?
@ricktbdgc changing speed of record with bass tone sounds on it- while cutting sound in and out-also maybe taking the bass in and out at same time with knob

C2C have no flava, it's pop trash mainstream turntablism for peeps who don't know shit about original and groundbreaking crews such as the Scratch Perverts, Beat Junkies, 5th Platoon, Skratch Piklz, IF2, X-Men, Allies etc
Point taken Prof it is a matter of taste. But as for musical composition, continuity and clean style these guys rule.
Also depends what you mean by raw, out of time and hard to follow is just bad music IMHO. A lot of crews end up with a raw sound whilst trying to achieve a clean muscial sound and failing.
I get your point though, different strokes for different folks.
That last comment was for George (no offence intended, just throwing out ideas). It also occurred to me that the Scratch Perverts throw out both styles - they can be the most raw crew, they even experiment with feedback etc. but at the same time they produce really clean stuff like their set at fabric or any one of their remix tracks. Ultimately the best thing about turntablism, is that although it's an insular scene, unlike MC-ing, the art of DJ-ing has stayed pure.
That's both a matter of taste and more importantly a case of what the individual team is trying to acheive. A lot of teams throw out a much more aggressive and raw sound - that's not to everyone's taste but it's an integral part of turntablism. Think of the raw style more like punk rock and you'll get what I mean. It's a pretty interesting analogy when you consider that hiphop and punk grew up in the same clubs - that's right, punks and b-boys in the same clubs - it was a cultural revolution.
@jaik1, they start with Howling for Judy, which is the song sampled by Beastie Boys for Sure Shot. Then it becomes an electric guitar version of Sure Shot.
