your opponent leans in when he punches, in which you should uppercut him!. All in the movements buddy, pivet 2 times backwards wait for him to move in and throw a right jab
footwork is ok, but im still trying to get the distance right, my coach always say im too close to my opponent and my right just wouldnt stay up when I throw a jab (especially to the body).
good job man, not too bad, you can check out some of my amateur sparring videos if you want, my cousin (search Tyler Stover)has been training one year almost. He is a beast and he won his first boxing match and mma match.
what's the matter???? are you too scared to move in and punch him or what????
i've beent to HK and trained under the khunchieng muaythai society for many months. Hong kong has bad couches and a lot of the fighters do muay thai but can't box for shit. If you wanna learn good boxin' come to the US or the UK
yeah, I had a problem with moving inside, I wasnt scared, its just everytime when I moved inside, instinctively my eyes kinda blinked, or looked away.
Im not sure about the standard of the hong kong coaches, because I trained under a coach from manchester UK, hes been to the common wealth game with england so I think hes pretty qualified.
I was pretty new back then and it was a first time sparring with other people, I am now a little bit better than before :D
Zaid you are totally right about keeping the distance and the reach advantage, at that point i had close to zero in-fight experience, haha i dont know how to fight inside. If you check my other video I was destroyed by this dude who kept running into me and i didnt know how to push him back haha
too early to be sparring? I think not, haha, I think learning from the mistakes are by far the quickest way to improvment :P

DaveMustain3 3 years ago
thanks for the comment, but my foot work back then was kinda stupid :) just jumping randomly lol!!
my coach once said to me, you feet have got to be always ready to move in and move out in, and also try to balance your weight evenly on both feet!!!
im still working on controlling the distance and footwork (im lazy when im tired) :P
