Its strange how many echoes of 9/11 can be heard on this album...It was going to be released on 9/11 but they held off, for obvious reasons. Interesting to think about though, all of these songs were written before the attacks...
i can't even describe what this album means to me. don't mean to be silly but this is the first album I've ever been in love with. Criticisms and critiques be damned it's totally personal
Heard they closed their set today in New Orleans with this song. Funny how much has changed since 9/11 and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, and yet this song is still so powerful...
@cinedores I understand your reaction to people making comparisons to art that you hold dear and thinking that it cheapens or detracts from the individuality and stand aloneness of said art, but I would almost disagree. I think its active, busy minds that seek out comparisons and are able to make connections. Its normal
@tjusmc92 Fuck you. I'll remember that the next time you say something reminds you of something else. That was my point: Wilco was built upon their own influences...as all "art" is. To find and even seeek out comparisons to previous or contemporary models is typical and expected; There is no denying this. I love this album. It is our Sgt. Peppers as far as this man is concerned. Fuck you. You are the lazy mind.
@beeasy508 dont spend 8 bucks on cigarettes. support an artist with that, or save those 70 bucks worth of cigarettes smoked in a month and get a gym membership, or a new something for someone. smoking cigarette is a waste of your body and money
@InfliktionDrums i buy cd's instead of downloading them illegally, and im pretty physically active. i hate smoking with a passion. quitting is my new year's resolution
@beeasy508 nice man. im glad to hear that. i am a recent quitter myself. the hardest part is being around people who do it. . im only 19, but i figure quitting now is better now than having serious problems. i even changed most my friends, eventually i noticed i was only a use to them, not a real friend. unfortunately i cant afford all those cds ive pirated, but i try my best to promote bands and support whenever i can. well, later man. thanks for the response
@InfliktionDrums im only 16 and i had quit for like 3 months, then some shit went down and i ended up starting again. i cant afford smoking anymore, so i am trying to quit now before it gets harder.
"All my lies are always wishes" one of my many favorite Wilco songs...
