  • I'm surprised to hear someone not appreciating Billy Talbot on drums. Seems to me Neil just tells the rhythm-keepers to find a groove and stay there...It turns all his tunes with them into true meditations...I so love it...top o' the rock category for moi... Thanks for this gift...

  • amazing sound quality here! thanks for posting

  • I love Neil Young - And this tune specially. But : the drummer ; too heavy and lame... I have never understood Neil's choices on this point...

  • What a gret tune

  • saw CSNY do this song in '74 and was totally mesmerized by the performance.

    Very Special!

  • 11Xz - I'm a huge fan! Love dozens of Neil's songs. But this one is my favourite. Don't know why. It just is.

  • I went to this show. This was billed as "Hippie Dream". The previous year at Princeton Landing in Half Moon Bay they were billed as the "Echoes" which I managed to get into 4 of the 14 shows.

  • What a great tune

  • A beautiful freak of poetic nature. When I grow up I want to be neil's guitar

  • Just... awesome. Great to see a video of Neil and the boys performing this live. Always been one of my favorite Neil tunes. Don't be denied, people!

  • the punches came fast hard .. no Neil you were never beaten up .. nice story.

  • @11xzxzxz Why not? He was a kid. MOst kids get into a fight or seven.

  • @ekaminar True . This was a reference to something else - sorry secret message . But was Neil about 14 or 15 when the punches came? Just not sure.

  • LOVE IT, LOVE HIM, LOVE CRAZY HORSE!

  • EPIC footage..THANK YOU!!

  • Great footage!Thanks!

  • @philexile0 Well it's a pretty good song .. damn good .. but if it is your favorite Neil song I would predict you are not a strong fan. ha

  • @11xzxzxz ive been a fan since havvest[ i was too young to get buffalo springfield when they were relavent?] ive listened or owned 20 niel young albums since then. this is real always was aways will be. dont be denied its time to go to work. lol

  • @tamster5e I was nuts back 6 months ago .. sorry for my ridiculous words.. I like the song a lot by the way.

  • Love this!

  • "When I was a young boy, My mama said to me Your daddy's leavin' home today, I think he's gone to stay...." "....Well, all that glitters isn't gold I know you've heard that story told. And I'm a pauper in a naked disguise A millionaire through a business man's eyes. Oh friend of mine Don't be denied...." What is it about the hum of an amp and the strum of a chord that it can so comfort one's self as it reverberates through you like the most subtle of caresses? Don't be denied.
  • What a great tune .Heard first in the 70,s on the album but live is a real treat

    regards

    jimmy

  • Great story about this show. It was May 8, 1997 not the 5th as mentioned on the other clip. My friend and i drove 7 hrs to the Bay Area because we heard a rumor about a stealth Crazy Horse gig happening "around the time" that Jim Jarmusch's Year of the Horse movie premiere was happening in SF. Sure enough Neil in true prankster fashion staged the stealth gig AT THE EXACT SAME TIME as the movie premiere! i have this whole show on dvd (same source as these clips). B+P for anyone wanting this!

  • saw him in May in Louisville, KY. Love him, and it's worth every dollar plus to see him still.

  • longlostgus, Neil's concerts are INCREDIBLE still today...don't let anyone tell you different and make you miss an amazing night out!

  • fantastic!

  • Saw him perform this one live back in the 70 INCREDIBLE seeing him live when he was a "young boy" like he says

just an amazing and unforgeable experience.

    gus

was at San Diego sports arena and is taped on the time fades away album in case you dont believe me

didn't mentioned the part oh Canada

  • @ericmgislason Me too!!! :)

  • is this from the gigs where they were dubbed as the echoes?

  • @dogmunch You're thinking of the Old Princeton Landing gigs. I have a few of those gigs on cassette.
