It's a Prince chord! I've seen him play that one when I found out that he actually could play the guitar!

I really like this guy for 3 reasons: First, he's modest and clearly enjoys what he is doing. Second, he can really play! Third, he lets the natural guitar sound come through. A Telecaster or Strat is wasted using distortion. Neither is a shred machine (like a JEM or similar).

@profileu Looks like a MIM stratocaster with SCN magnets or texas can't quite tell cause i don't see them up close and i don't think he's using any effect

That is a custom made Statocaster!

mtwilson is right. It's a deluxe players strat. has a push button to activate the bridge pickup no matter where the selector switch is, also some other things like noiseless p/u's and hardware, but the push switch is really what makes it different than your standard strats.

Dr. Bones, it's not necessarily about a 'light touch on the strings'. You may be using too light of a pick.

What gauge pick do you use? I find these types of rhythms very easy with a 1.00 or 1.44 mm pick.
