  • eZdia brings a different angle to networking. If you want to make use of your professional knowledge and skills, eZdia is suitable for you. If you want to be known and searched by people for your expertise, eZdia is for you. When people search something related to your expertise they will seek your help.

  • Interesting to thinking about the link between the online and offline word...especially when you think about bars and restaurants

  • This one came over rather jerky. Interesting information from marketing point of view

  • exactly why I dont have one - "a smart algorithum could learn a lot about you". call me old fashioned but I like my privacy in this increasingly invasive world.

  • I really can't imagine using facebook for anything else apart from social networking. However it will be interesting to see how it would work for businesses.

  • I agree...it's kind of my release away from work and I love it for that exact reason.

  • Myspace needs to first find ways to lighten up the people pages. It takes ages to load on a dial up or on a basic ADSL connection. Corporations can use Facebook but they'd have to be very personal about it and not appear to be a business at all. Facebook is a social networking tool not a brand loyalty program.

  • I live in Tasmania, Australia and even all of the bars here have Facebook pages or groups to join, I would agree that Facebook is becoming much more professional and is such a fantastic way of communicating and advertising...

  • some interesting stuff. a lot of it is very obvious though

  • Not sure if I like the idea of businesses using facebook, I can see how it appeals to some people or may seem like a good idea but I just find it kind of tacky

  • In terms of the presentation found it nice and easy to listen to. Must admit tho' I am more into face-to-face social networking than the whole facebook/myspace scene, so can't say it really interested me that much.

  • For an oldie like me this is like the cars to space travel leap. So many new ways of catching attention, saying Hi, suggesting choice. Intriguing and obviously very powerful

  • Food for thought!

  • I find facebook a lot better than myspace.

  • Hey, thanks, there's some useful advice in there. Got me thinking a bit. I didn't realise how others were using social networking sites for business purposes, but actually it makes a lot of sense and is a super cheap way of maintaining a network of clients..something that in my field is potentially very valuable but has been very difficult to achieve.

  • nothing new but a nice piece. the #1 line for me in this video is "if they say yes", it's still about choice for me. i don't want advertising on my facebook because that's still personal (for me). why i like Utube for advertising is it's visual and you know it's open season, so to speak, for everything.

  • Haven't followed his series - I think his look and sound work well

My view is that Facebook want to be the Google of Social and Business Networking

Internet marketing experts are now getting into facebook so I think the business dynamic there will change even more rapidly.

My Space has few business categories but as the use of self made vids by small businesses becomes more commonplace we might see new cats emerging -experts in action - maybe cross linked on facebook youtube and myspace.

  • I don't even have a facebook account. I'm so old...

  • Has similar information in this video to the others in this series. Enjoys social networking and believe it has a primary place in business.

  • Still doesn't stop someone trying to connect with you for no apparent reason other than to increase their contact numbers. I've seen this practice in a social network where as soon as I joined, I was contacted by the no. 1 in each country - that's how they remain no.1 but it adds no real value to me. People need to understand the value of qualitative connections on social networks otherwise we're back into that mass marketing thing.

  • agree

  • Nothing really new here regarding social networks. The purpose was always demographics for targetted marketing. Information is always king. No shock there.

  • All that social networking stuff I find a bit boring.

  • you should join linked in and ask some Q'N'A i have found out some great info and i have hand some great answers fired my way

  • I can think about small business client I was working with a couple of years ago - we could have done amazing things if this had been bigger then

  • Bangkok is currently owned and run by facebook. All the bars have pages and they constantly send me invites to events. And if I RSVP on face book I Often get discounts.

  • It's a nice idea - I am surprised how little that stuff happens in Germany. When i was last in Singapore, they were really huge on texting rather than email.

  • Bangkok has a rep based on all the wrong impressions. It is really a lot more hip than people give it credit for.

  • the architecture and design there is wild

  • The folks there are really on top of their tech stuff too. They are super fast adopters. And who can go forget Gold Class Cinema - genius!

  • hmmm some of us are still waiting for the Gold Class Cinema!! :)

  • Hey BusinessExpertLouise...orkut is similar to facebook but its a google application and I find it pretty handy to keep in touch with my mates who are scattered all around the place lol!

  • Wow I've never heard of it before, we had a Swedish exchange student and I thought it sounded like some sort of Swedish thing he used lol

  • I will check it out thanks!!

  • Thats pretty cool, bars and restaurants connecting with clients on Facebook

  • I think we will see a lot more targeted marketing

  • Agreed. The Facebook experts I am talking are saying there's been a massive pick up in business focus on FB in the last month or two.

  • I've watched a group of sydney music promoters build a facebook group of 2K people really fast over 4 mths or so using music downloads. They then market to that group to sell out their events. All free ;-)

  • Its really cool being able to be connected to places like bars and restaurants and being able to find out whats going on, just like Stefan said about NYC.

  • Mad that he is already talking about the decline of social networking!

  • Stefan sums up the true value of social networks. It's the insight that social networks give to marketers to trends, preferences and key influencers in the crowd. Powerful stuff indeed.

  • good practical advice on how to use it... simple participation is overlooked by bigger companies IMO

  • 'how to make money out of it'

    key line from the show!

  • Orkut...I am not familiar with this businesstvAndie, can you tell me some more??

  • is that the chinese one? its massive!

  • Customer focus and very targetted advertising is getting very developed on these networks.

  • Mass marketing is on the way out when technology is getting better and better at targetting individuals.

  • Facebook rocks and so does Orkut. They are my two favorite social networks I would say.
