go check with the ncdc, although there is a general warming trend from 2005ish to 2009 we had a very noticeable cooling trend. IN fact you will find that in 2008-9 the annual avg. temp was lower than in the 1900. Further investigation of this same data will show you a general cooling trend all the way from 1950-80. Why would this happen when industrialization of most of the world was In a boom during the 1940's ww2 era? At the same time as that was happening we get a cooling trend for 30 years.

We are changing the composition of the atmosphere. There are negative consequences. Sure, there are other sources of pollution but altering the carbon cycle to the extent we have will change climates for hundreds, even thousands of years. No small "accomplishment".

The data doesnt show that what happening right now is the result of man made co2, the data shows that only a very small % of warming is caused by man made co2. I think the irony here is that solid science also claims that the more co2 emissions released the more sunlight is reflected. There is a strong contradiction in terms of co2 itself. go check with the ncdc, although there is a general warming trend from 2005ish to 2009 we had a very noticeable cooling trend. IN fact you will find that in 2008-9 the annual avg. temp was lower than in the 1900. Further investigation of this same data will show you a general cooling trend all the way from 1950-80. Why would this happen when industrialization of most of the world was In a boom during the 1940's ww2 era? At the same time as that was happening we get a cooling trend for 30 years.

Carbon Taxes are less likely than Cap & Trade. I recommend Gore's recent book Our Choice as well as James Hansen's book Storms Of My Grandchildren.
China is making some good progress. Not that I advocate it but their type of governing system can force change more easily than ours. Even now in the US we have law suits (vested interest encouraged) trying to stop the EPA from regulating CO2 pollution.

If every form of co2 on earth came to a halt, (which it wouldn't) the entire planet would seize to exist,ourselves included. How do trees and other plant life create energy to grow and reproduce?Via co2, basic primary school science! Yet masses no longer seem to be able to problem solve with basic logic and common sense so they turn to a salesmen(Al Gore) for answers, and the masses eat it up like they do breakfast in the morning!

I'm not claiming that he is lying, but he has millions to gain by doing so. Don't be so naive yourself. Almost all scientists agree warming is caused mainly by water vapor in the atmosphere,reflectivity, and sun cycles. CO2 increase is more of an effect of global warming than it is a cause. I'm all for decreasing pollution however.

@elway7171 Some people that don't think CO2 pollution is a problem simply lack information. Try reading what the respected scientific institutions have concluded. We are changing the composition of the atmosphere. There are negative consequences. Sure, there are other sources of pollution but altering the carbon cycle to the extent we have will change climates for hundreds, even thousands of years. No small "accomplishment".

My professors in chemistry from college even said that from their point of view co2 has almost no heat holding properties that would cause global warming. information is not accurate for temperature rise either, look up climategate2 us govt caught hiding temps . This still doesn't change the minimal if any impact co2 has on global warming. I'm not denying that there has been a warming over the past century, scientists clearly agree on that but over the past few years we have actually had a global cooling despite the rise in co2. @ReduceGHGs I do however have the ability to research and make my own hypothesis and conclusions from that data. The data doesnt show that what happening right now is the result of man made co2, the data shows that only a very small % of warming is caused by man made co2. There is more warming contributed from man caused methane, urbanization, landscape changing, and other factors than co2. Scientists and meteorologists like james spann are shunned if they wont support man caused global warming.

I think the irony here is that solid science also claims that the more co2 emissions released the more sunlight is reflected. There is a strong contradiction in terms of co2 itself. Now pollution is another thing, obviously pollution for human health and standards of living are very much so affected, for crying out loud you can actually come down with allergies by living and breathing next to big highways. But to say that every big mainstream science foundation co2 is pure fiction

Thanks for our "analysis" of CO2. What are your qualifications? Do you have a sufficient grasp of the very complex climate sciences? CO2 emissions ARE atmosphere pollution. Perhaps you haven't read what all our respected scientific institutions have been saying. Or, do you think you know better? If so, it's a delution. Among those that actively study climate change science there is not credible debate over the core issue. The active "debate" is among the much less informed.

In addition, I don't get my education from the TV. I've read many books about how humans are affecting the biosphere and I've been reading what the many studies have determined over the last three decades. How about you? Is it your BELIEF that you rely on?
