A Good pc only cost about 800-1000 dollars with that you get a pc which games. which most people pay about 500-1k for a good one that does not lag (1k cause some people use mac). Most Consoles cost about 300 after a few years 600 the first year they come out. so if you have a PC and a console that's about 1.2k or 900 ( for macs 1.3k or 1.6k) not to mention we get games cheaper I got skyrim for 50% off on steam.

I tend to disagree, I think pc gaming has better controls, because you have a choice between a gamepad or mouse/keyboard, better graphics (depending on your pc) and cheaper games, you can get great games on a steam sale for 5-10$. Hell, I don't even own a gaming pc. I just play on console because I don't have the money for a gaming pc.
FACT: you don't need to upgrade to play the latest games on PC (that's if you do your research and are not the average PC illiterate)
One solid custom built PC will outlast and look better than any console for the next 10 yrs or more. Even a budget built PC will outlast any console. + With PC I can do web surfing, watch full true 1080p videos, true HD gaming, school work/work in general. We don't have the POS crutch controls (aim assisting).

Having a gaming pc doesn't mean you have to upgrade all the time. Even if we don't upgrade we still have superior graphics than consoles in high-max settings. I've had my gaming rig for three years, I haven't needed one upgrade and I can still play modern games at maximum settings well. And what you pay for is what you get. You pay $300 for a console, it feels like $300. If you pay $900 for a gaming PC, it feels like $900.
Wrong The only thing you have to upgrade on a decent gaming pc is the graphics card about 2-5 years and your good to go which is usually 150-300 for a high end one that can max graphics on almost any game

Most major dev studios have gone over to console gaming, since it's easier to develop on a system with set specs. This has caused mainstream PC Gaming to wither up. However, the Indie PC gaming sphere has exploded. That's because you can simply do a whole lot more with a PC. Folks that know Java can use it to create a game that tons of folks enjoy (minecraft). There's also games that would never sell mainstream that take off indie (Dwarf Fortress).

Big publishers butt into the devs business and make sure they dumb it down enough so that any half-twit with no gaming experience can play it. If you're a fan of action RPGs, as I am, you need a decent PC because action RPGs on consoles suck ass. Dragon Age: Origins on the PC doesn't even compare to the PS3 version.

GoW2, Bayonetta, RDR, GTA IV, etc. have all reached the maximum potential of console and suffer from frame rate problems. They aren't next-gen cause they're on current-gen consoles. A true next-gen console game would be a DX11, full 1080p, with at least 4x AA, 4x AF and a frame rate above 45.

@puertorricanstar A mouse and keyboard is useful for far more than just those two genres. There are genres that play better on a pad (racing, platformers), but a PC will support multiple controller pads so the whole "controls" issue can't be contested.

If we're throwing in "highest quality gaming", it's only fair to apply that to PCs as well. There's a hell of a lot in that "+", an HDTV can just as well act as a monitor, controllers can be used on PCs as well, the price difference (and amount of DLC) of games is quickly fading away, and obviously you're upgrading a PC far more often than you're buying a new console to stay up to date.
I one-hundred percent agree that PCs deliver the best gaming experience, but at a price many won't pay.

Um... Yeah... I stick with consoles. I hate two things about PCs - They recquire constant updates, and they confuse me. For example, I love Guild Wars. I played it a while, and bough the expansion, Eye of the North. Turns out, I didn't have the right graphics card. By the time I found this out, my character was stuck because I couldn't log in, because of the graphics crad thing. And on top of all that, I really don't understand the whole "Graphics crad" thing. Bottom line - I hate PC gaming.
PC is an open system, half of your points are and always were irrelevant, I say Google is your friend for fixing shit and games are as simple to play as open Steam and download if that's all you want.
Steam is probably more simple and safer for all parties than buying the disc.
I've sung the praises of Steam many times, if not in this video then in another. But Steam is nowhere near the answer to all of the hassles that come with PC gaming (which, I remind you, I prefer) that simply are not there for the consoles.
Well it seems that the PC is exactly where the consoles are heading. I have all of them too (paid for by a job) and generation by generation these things are just becoming closed platform PCs.
I like consoles as a side-dish, something I can just pick up and play, but with mandatory installs, usb support incomming, piracy, online play, I just can't see much of a difference anymore (bar the gaphical quality of course).

I've had my gaming rig for three years, I haven't needed one upgrade and I can still play modern games at maximum settings well. And what you pay for is what you get. You pay $300 for a console, it feels like $300. If you pay $900 for a gaming PC, it feels like $900.

Most major dev studios have gone over to console gaming, since it's easier to develop on a system with set specs. This has caused mainstream PC Gaming to wither up. However, the Indie PC gaming sphere has exploded. That's because you can simply do a whole lot more with a PC. Folks that know Java can use it to create a game that tons of folks enjoy (minecraft). There's also games that would never sell mainstream that take off indie (Dwarf Fortress).

I don't give a fuck what I have to put up with. Console games suck. They have been getting worse and worse. Big publishers butt into the devs business and make sure they dumb it down enough so that any half-twit with no gaming experience can play it. If you're a fan of action RPGs, as I am, you need a decent PC because action RPGs on consoles suck ass. Dragon Age: Origins on the PC doesn't even compare to the PS3 version.

I have a regular Nintendo, a classic Playstation and an old PC. The thing is I'm happy with what I have. I still play Doom 1 and Doom 2 on it, and Aliens Vs. Predator. It's the year 2011, and I'm still playing classic games. My friends come over and say...you don't have WII yet? You don't have a 360 or a PS3? I tell them...nope!!! Don't need them.
They stare at me like I'm weird...and they tell me to upgrade. I refuse to upgrade :)

The 8800GT that I bought for $200 in 2007 has allowed me to play pretty much every single game that's been released since then. Yes, that was a $200 upgrade. My Xbox 360 was $400 and I didn't buy one, but the PS3 at launch was $500-$600. GoW2, Bayonetta, RDR, GTA IV, etc. have all reached the maximum potential of console and suffer from frame rate problems. They aren't next-gen cause they're on current-gen consoles. A true next-gen console game would be a DX11, full 1080p, with at least 4x AA, 4x AF and a frame rate above 45.

@puertorricanstar A mouse and keyboard is useful for far more than just those two genres. There are genres that play better on a pad (racing, platformers), but a PC will support multiple controller pads so the whole "controls" issue can't be contested.

Most console games lack the af and aa that you get on a gaming pc. There's just no going back. I might pick up a ps3 once the homebrew scene matures a bit, but $300 is still a lot for me. I could buy A LOT of games on steam with that money.

If we're throwing in "highest quality gaming", it's only fair to apply that to PCs as well. There's a hell of a lot in that "+", an HDTV can just as well act as a monitor, controllers can be used on PCs as well, the price difference (and amount of DLC) of games is quickly fading away, and obviously you're upgrading a PC far more often than you're buying a new console to stay up to date.
I one-hundred percent agree that PCs deliver the best gaming experience, but at a price many won't pay.

Um... Yeah... I stick with consoles. I hate two things about PCs - They recquire constant updates, and they confuse me. For example, I love Guild Wars. I played it a while, and bough the expansion, Eye of the North. Turns out, I didn't have the right graphics card. By the time I found this out, my character was stuck because I couldn't log in, because of the graphics crad thing. And on top of all that, I really don't understand the whole "Graphics crad" thing. Bottom line - I hate PC gaming.

I've sung the praises of Steam many times, if not in this video then in another. But Steam is nowhere near the answer to all of the hassles that come with PC gaming (which, I remind you, I prefer) that simply are not there for the consoles.

Well it seems that the PC is exactly where the consoles are heading. I have all of them too (paid for by a job) and generation by generation these things are just becoming closed platform PCs.
I like consoles as a side-dish, something I can just pick up and play, but with mandatory installs, usb support incomming, piracy, online play, I just can't see much of a difference anymore (bar the gaphical quality of course).

@Gavizuli hassle? you mentioned you game on a laptop. most laptops have garbage gpus unless you have a 'gaming laptop' buy a good graphics card and atleast have a good dual core or quad core. pc games have better graphics, better controls, bigger hard drive space. i have NEVER played a game and i coudent play it since my pc did not meet requirements. constant upgrades? you wont need to if you just buy good hardware.

1. can get the game pirated free
2. have the pride of owning a powerful pc?
3.your gaming pc is individual you built it none has one exactly the same *in most cases*
4. pc's can just do more than you will ever be able to on a crapy plastic stick with a few buttons
i own a ps3 and the gaming experience is just not there like it is with the pc. and on almost all console games with multiplayer you get paired with some randoms from the other side of the world

I was gunna write a wall of text explaining my experience but ill just say,
I wanted to punch babies when i played MMO's on my PC i didnt lag or have bad graphics just keeping the computer virus free and running smooth made me wanna shoot myself!!!!!
Now im playing xbox and ill i have to do is get more batteries every 3-4 weeks for my controler and also the games are also funner =/ IMO kinda sick of the same old boring fantasy bullshit i wanna do HEADSHOTS BITCH!
